The vest is for my daughter (she cant regulate body temp) in the hot weather. I was a bit worried about the vest drenching her shirt and pants - but once your wring out the vest it is perfectly fine. Her shirt felt a bit damp to the touch if that much. i actually tested it out on myself for a little bit and plan on getting one for myself when i am out mowing the lawn or doing yard work.My daughter has been using it when she is on the playground and she doesn't even notice that she has it on - she stays cool and i am not worried about her overheating. It should be noted that these type of vests are not as effective in really humid conditions - they still work but not as well due to the moisture/humidity in the air.

My daughter rides horses and we live in the desert so she needs this in summer. The problem is that you have to make it so wet it's flowing everywhere on the clothes, making everything wet or there isn't enough water on it and will dry in a few minutes. It seems like we'd be better off just wetting her shirt before horse riding....

Bought this for my boy who has difficulty of adjusting his body temperature.He also has autism. I worried if he take this off right away, but he kept it on when hot summer day and helped him to adjust himself to hot weather.I tried it on and actually it's really light weight and kept me cool.
