I bought this because I needed a cheap sketchbook. The back and front covers are pretty thick, about 2-3mm which makes them an excellent hard surface if you want something to draw with. The paper has a rougher texture, one side is a slightly rough but still smooth texture while the other side is more like a rough card stock. Either side works fine for writing/drawing. I will be buying more of these in the future!

I'm a woodworker and I keep this notebook in my end table drawer in the living room. If I have and idea or see something on television, magazine or anywhere else, I sketch it out so I won't forget. Perfect size
