Overhyped and packed with fillers
Checked the story out due to reddit recommendations and rank in the Kindle store.I couldn't get far enough into the book to judge the story because of how much filler there is.Usually, I like books to take their time before introducing the system but the author packed the opening with lots of uninteresting action and infodumps. Then once the story starts focusing once the protagonist, I find passages like these:`Gus climbed around until he found another nest with eggs in it down a narrow crevasse. He reached in and found four brownish gray eggs. The eggs were larger than a chicken egg and were speckled, with more spots on the rounder, wider end. Shells and other debris were in the nest and Gus greedily extracted all of the eggs. He stared briefly at the eggs in his hands.`Perhaps some of the cover budget should've been spent on a line editor. A decent proof-read would've highlighted such issues because they can break the reader's immersion when they're struggling to hold on already.

Not the best but also not the worst
I've read worse. I've also read better. The writing isn't exactly flowing or gripping. The opening is a bit weak. The ending anticlimactic. The lone hero is likeable enough. The situation is interesting. I'm going to look for any sequel.

Superhero litrpg
Finally the little genre joins the modern zeitgiestConstant time constraints from events prevent this book from really exploring what could be done with the genre mashup. There a bit of come with me if you want to live/no time to explain but that's just a staple of this style of writing. Worth a read. You will enjoy.

Super litrpg
I like the growth of the MC, from blaming others and his parents for his lack lustre life to taking control and mastering his new powers. Look forward to the next book.
