If you work gently, yes, you are able to remove the blue part off the bottom of the boat with the fisherman. I just went out to the kitchen and proved it, so I'm not sure why the other answers said no. It is not one piece. There are two small extensions on the bottom of the boat that fit into holes in the blue part. Hope this answer helps.
