Premium Leather Bite Tug Toy 2 Handle 3" X 12"

I have a very active puppy chewer and this product was great for him. I was able to hold it without getting my hands bit. It’s a little bit stiff which is why I gave it four instead of five stars.

Great tug. I received it quickly and it is very good quality. It is a little harder for the dog to get a good bite on it as opposed to the linen and firehose ones, but that is what I was looking for. This will help develop my dog's bite, as he has to really get a good bite on it to keep it. I would recommend this product for any tugging/bite work development. If you are looking for a chew toy, this is not for you. My dog could destroy this in under 15 minutes if he was allowed to. If you are looking for something to leave around the house for the dog to play with, I would not recommend getting this item. I am pleased with this product and will order again when it goes bad. This was recommended to me by my trainer to redirect some anxious behavioral issues to appropriate behavior and something less destructive. Basically when ever the pup is feeling stressed we can play tug and practice listening and impulse control. When he's behaving well (sitting and attention on the tug) he gets released and then can pull on this thing as hard as he wants. Then back to a sit or down position, rinse and repeat. He loves that game and it seems to be helping in some areas. He pulls very hard and likes to thrash and this tug is holding up well. The handles aren't as soft as I'd like, they cut up my hands after 10+ minutes of play. Sometimes I wear gloves if I know I'm going to train for a while.

I am impressed by this "toy"'s quality. My dog loves to play tug of war or chase me down while I'm running with this thing and I've had it for over a (update: a couple years) now and it's still in good shape. It is very well-made with the handles and the leather mid-section has withstood a lot of very serious tug of war sessions with my 80ish pound Rottweiler.I don't use this as a toy for the dog in that I don't let him "have it" to leave around like his other toys.I bring it out to play tug on special occasions so it is like a treat for him to tug on this.

The thickness and firmness of this tug is exactly what I was looking for. As with all the other tugs that I bought from Red Line K9,, the handles are way too long. This also has a very hard edge on one side from where they sewed the material together. A lot of dogs are not going to like taking that edge of the tug, so with those dogs you would have to take great care to make sure that you're presenting the other side of the tug to them all the time. I will use this in the meantime but I'm definitely going to look for a tug that I don't have to worry about which side I present to the dog. That's a real big deal when you are working with highly active dogs on "fast and furious" activities.

Great tug toy. Holds up to all the stresses of swinging my adolescent GSD around. It's definitely not made for chewing so don't leave it with them. Mine could probably eat through a handle in 10 seconds.

Very nice product. My Doberman has not shewed through it. She’s 9 months old and rips everything up. I’m very pleased with this product.

i have a 32 # k9 trained dog who does proper tug play by grabbing the soft leather middle w her teeth while i hold the 2 handles. the stitchng on one of the handles completely unraveled so the tug has only one handle and cannot be used for proper training. it's now an expensive chew toy. not durable, not well designed. and since the middle is a stiff raw hide i cannot repair it on my home sewing machine.
