Ever After High Hat-Tastic Madeline Hatter Doll and Party Display (Discontinued by manufacturer)

Ever After High is by the same creators as Monster High (Mattel) and whilst not as big over here in the UK as in the USA or as big in the UK as Monster High it does seem to be gaining momentum and becoming increasingly popular. Like Monster High there are webisodes and I have seen an awful lot of them both with my nieces who are Ever After and Monster High mad and if I'm honest I've watched a few by myself too as I really quite enjoy them now. The theme tune is extremely catchy so beware if you haven't seen any yet as you'll be humming it for days!Ever After High is a boarding school where the children of fairytale and fantasy story characters are sent to follow their parents footsteps and embrace the same destiny. The thought is that if they don't then their stories will cease to exist and so will they, however not all of the students are happy with their destiny's. Raven Queen (daughter of the Evil Queen) is one of the students who is not happy with her destiny and has vowed to change her future whilst Apple White (daughter of Snow White) is more than happy to follow her destiny. So the school has been split with those that wish to embrace their future - Royals and those that don't - Rebels.This play set has been made to go alongside the Hat-Tastic Ever After High dolls although the set can be played with alongside any of the dolls in reality. The Tea Party Set has been made following one of the Ever After High webisodes where Madeline and her friends throw a bonkers tea party in order to charge up the magic in Wonderland Grove and save it from losing all of it's wonder and magic. The episode is really funny if you get a chance to watch it with some funny dancing and a madness meter.The set comes nicely boxed and includes the Hat-Tastic Madeline Hatter doll along with the following:-Golden Tree which has a clock face table top around it and this doubles as a jewellery stand when not being used with the setDining table with rotating cake stand and books on itGold and Blue ChairBlack Bench which has a hinged lid and three storage sections inside (perfect for storing all the little teacups etc)Purple Chandelier which has little glitter sparkles on and hangs from the golden treeCake Stand as mentioned above with the dining tablePink and purple striped Teapot with pink flower lidSugar pot with gold lidMilk jugThree teacups (white, gold and red) and three saucers (gold, blue and black)Two cupcakes on little platesOne square of cake on a little plate with a strawberry on topOne plate of round cakesChild-size teacup and saucer ring which Madeline doll is holding when in the boxThe set has been beautifully made with lots of attention to detail such as the heart swirl design on the bottom level of the cake stand and dining table top design of pages from a story book scattered between small squares of fabric and all with numerous tea cup ring stains on them. This set along with the other Ever After High Playset ( Ever After High Thronecoming Accessory and Briar Beauty Set ), are definitely two of the best play sets I have bought and I have bought an awful lot over the last few years alone for my son, nieces and nephews. I managed to get the set on offer at under half it's normal price and I would say that it was very good value for money even at £10 more than that. I bought a few of the sets for my nieces and all of them arrived in perfect condition.The dining table measure approx 18cm long by 11cm wide and 12cm high and has a lovely table top design as I'v mentioned above along with books on the top that spin around and when the cake stand is added that also can be spun around too. The table legs have a flower design on the top of them and one of the feet has a couple of saucers attached for even more attention to detail.The Golden Tree Jewellery Stand comes in three different pieces with the tree base clipping into the underside of the clock face table and the tree top then clicking onto the top and as mentioned above the chandelier hangs from this tree or your little one can use it as a jewellery stand when not playing with it with the set. The table width is approx 12cm and the tree height is approx 31cm.The chair is approx 16cm high by 6cm deep by 10cm wide at its widest point and it has a gold swirl design along with the blue fabric effect.The bench measures approx 14.5cm long by 5.5cm deep at its deepest point by 6cm tall and has a hinged lid with storage inside which is perfect for storing all of the small pieces of the set when not in use. The bench has books underneath it for the legs and again the attention to detail is lovely.The set comes with a Madeline Hatter doll but you have to purchase the other Hat-Tastic dolls separately. Madeline stands at around 25cm tall and as usual with the Ever After High dolls is beautifully made. She is wearing a blue and pink dress which has a teacup design on the skirt and striped top with purple tulle underskirt and a beautiful cut out pattern around the skirt hem. She has her usual gloved hands but this time they are black along with black bow bracelets and a golden coloured necklace. Her golden earring are in the shape of teabags which I think is brilliant and she has a hairband with black top hat attached. Her hair is the normal aqua and purple colour and has its usual curl effect. Her shoes are gorgeous (I still can't believe that there is no shoe company that has picked up on the EAH and MH shoes and hasn't started to make them for us adults as the first thing all the mums on EAH and MH children look at on the dolls are the shoes!) and are gold with teaspoon shaped heels and she wears black fishnets to complete her look. Her arms, legs, elbows and wrists are jointed and so poseable and her clothes and accessories come off if required for any clothes changes. She is also holding a teacup and saucer ring which your little one can wear on their own finger as a ring.Madeline Hatter is the daughter of the Mad Hatter from Wonderland and is one of a few of the Ever After High dolls that come from Wonderland such as Lizzie Hearts and Kitty Cheshire. Madeline is a little bit bonkers and is one of the few characters who can hear the narrators when they talk in the webepisodes. Maddie works in the Mad Hatters Tea Shoppe in the Village of Book End next to Ever After High and loves working there. Maddie is a Rebel despite wishing to follow in her fathers footsteps as she believes everyone has the right to choose their own destiny. Maddie has a pet dormouse called Earl Grey who she keeps in her hat along with a full tea set so that she is always ready and able to have a cup of tea. Maddie is a lovely fun, friendly and energetic character and due to her Wonderlandian magic sometimes has visions of other times and places.Another really excellent and high quality Ever After High doll and an absolutely fantastic set which has been very beautifully and cleverly designed and made. All of the Ever After High dolls I have purchased and have (Ashlynn Ella & Hunter Huntsman, Raven Queen, Briar Beauty, Cedar Wood, Kitty Cheshire, Duchess Swan, Apple White, Madeline Hatter, Lizzie Hearts and Cerise Hood) for when my nieces come and stay are beautifully made and of a very high quality and this set and doll is no exception. I would definitely recommend this set and say that it has been one of my best EAH purchases yet and if you or your child are a fan of Ever After High then this will make a gorgeous addition to the collection and not disappoint.
