MONACOR AR-30 Wetterfester Audio-Exciter/Resonator, Schwarz

Purchased two of these on a punt that didn't work out. Turns out they're not that great as a replacement for tweeters, although that might depend on the surface type they are attached to. Playing music on a wood table wasn't that great; sounded like a wee man in a box. However, they do make for pretty good woofers, low frequency bass, superb!Attached them to the underside of a wooden table and hooked them to a Lepy 2.1 audio amplifier (woofer speaker cable output) and they basically turned the table into a subwoofer. Spot on! Just spot on man!It's annoying that they need crimped, but still good.

I wasn't expecting the kind of quality some internet beings have claimed but they did get me thinking I find out what they are capable of so I did. It works but it's very poor sound quality. Glad it was only one. I won't be buying its stereo pair.In fairness the manufacturer doesn't claim hifi quality, hence 3 stars. It's probably OK for a lift or for tannoy-like purposes.Just don't be talen in by the idiots on youtube.

Having tried several exciters to turn ceilings into speakers, I've found this one to be the best of the bunch. Sound quality is decent enough and it handles power well without distorting until it's really quite loud. Being weatherproof is a bonus and means I'm able to use one in the porch ceiling for spooky effects at halloween ;-)

Mounted a couple of these on the COVID screens between desks in our office, turned the plexiglass into speakers, played random music and sound effects for a few days, stopping whenever my colleagues started searching for the source. Well worth the outlay for the chaos they caused ;)
