What is the maximum wind speed that the anemometer can handle

Brandon. I've had this device for 2 years now. I live in an area where wind gusts can exceed 65mph. AcuRite does not measure momentary wind gusts, but rather the average wind speed at any given time. I was disappointed to learn that this device cannot measure wind velocity gusts. So, if you're looking for a device to measure individual wind gusts, the AcuRite is not going to work for you. As for maximum wind speed (by average), I'm sure this device can reach high double digits-- as an average. Hope this helps. LT

Can you scroll to previous readings for the day, display the highest and lowest for the day with the time? Other historical data?

No, you can see the min/max values for the day but it does not show the time. It shows the average value for -12, -6, -3--2,-1 on a graph for temp,wind, or pressure.There's an internet reporting add on you can get for $30 that sends data to weather underground . Then you can see historical for years and years back on any type of data. I plan to buy that, but have not yet

I am thinking about buying acurite 00638a2. the pic doesn't show if there is a hole on the bottom to mount on a rod or dowling. is there a hole?

Hello Glen, You are able to mount the 3-in-1 sensor that way. We recommend using a 3/4 inch schedule 40 PVC pipe or a steel pole with an outer diameter of one inch. A mounting bracket is also included that you could attach to a surface such as a fence post instead. Display doesn't id outside temp/wind. display sensor bars are ok. wait 14 days for learning mode to complete? or is the display not wking correctly?

Please make sure that you are using standard alkaline batteries from a high-quality brand in both the display unit and the outdoor sensor, then perform the following reset. Please follow the steps carefully as the order is crucial to the success of the reset. Hard Reset: 1. Bring both the sensor and display units together and power down by removing all batteries from each and/or removing the power cord. 2. Change the A-B-C switch on both units to a new, matching channel. 3. Reinstall the batteries in the outdoor sensor. 4. Reinstall batteries and/or power cord into the display unit. 5. Let the units sit within a couple of feet of each other for approximately 5 minutes or until you see a solid sensor signal.
