I love Warren W. Wiersbe's 'BE' commentary series.

Each "BE" booklet is 12 chapters of Bible based, Bible focused studies with practical application and clear conversational follow-up questions, (usually 10 for each chapter).The very best way to take a small home group through the entire Bible.

We use this commentary for our Small Group Class. I have loved learning more about this part of the Bible.

I found this to be helpful in my parallel studies of 2 Samuel & 1 Chronicles. Dr. Wiersbe is quite pastoral in his commentary. He provides salient points that many other commentators miss, filling their gaps.
