Very inspirational Book , every Runner must read !
The author captures my attention through this book as he provides different aspects of running in which not only a new runner would want to learn ,but also an experienced runner. The author begins presenting running as more than a disciplinary training ,but a lifestyle , maximizing our passion for running and taking it to a personal level describing and defining it as “Running is artistic” “Running is life” “Running is mental freedom”. For a runner, all of these definitions are accurate. In addition , this book is an useful and amazing instrument to better understand different aspects a runner must know in order to achieve personal goals , such as physical, psychological, technical and nutritional aspects , which are also essential factors that create a perfect balance when they are put together in a training plan . It’s also fascinating to see how the author takes us from his early beginning as a runner to his most recent and outstanding experiences as an Ultra Runner, sharing with the reader their emotions, work plan and the challenges presented in the middle of the race and lastly giving us a perfect understanding that dreams do come true if you work with the “consistency , sacrifice and self-disciplined mindset.” I truly recommend this book to anyone who feel love, passion and happiness for Running!

Best Running and Mindset Book
I have read many running books in the past, and this is by far my favorite. It started in chapter 1 when he defined running and what it is to be a runner, I can already tell it was going to be my favorite. I learned some really creative training tips I have never known before, for example, the 2 a day, back to back long runs, or strength training before a run in order to practice running on tired legs (simulating training for the LAST part of a race). But you have to read it to learn how to incorporate these great ideas safely, his knowledge of physical therapy really shines through in injury prevention. I also appreciated when he shared that during training sometimes his mind would try to rationalize and justify getting out of doing the run...I think we have all been there and I kept finding this book so relatable.. This book gives insight into building a strong mind, purpose, and discipline. I have to agree with some other reviewers who said this book gives good advice on mindset for life as well, learning how to stay strong through tough challenges. I want to go back and read this book again.. There were multiple chapters I read that I thought "this was the best chapter!" However, after finishing the book, I can say that the last 2 chapters were my favorite. And the way the last page ended was just perfect.

Practical Genuine Running stories and advice!
This book was filled with great running stories and practical advice for running while geared more towards ultra running much of the advice will still be helpful even to a weekend warrior hitting the occasional 5k. Both inspiring and practical content has made for a unique accessible bird’s eye view of ultras while also keeping things interesting and engaging! If you have ever wondered what’s ultra running about this book is a great place to dip your toes in.

Motivational and beneficial for runners and non runners!
This book is a great read! It has the scientific, technical information that runners will really appreciate. He also takes you on a journey through some of his races in great detail. His creativity in sharing his experiences makes the reader feel as if you are running the races with him. I could really sympathize with all of the obstacles that he had to overcome each race. I’m not a runner. However, I recommend this book as a motivational book in life as much as for tips on running. I feel like everyone can relate to this book in some way! He found a passion and has stayed true to it for over a decade. He focuses on finishing the race, not winning the race. He doesn’t run to be the best. He runs to be his best! I can only imagine how happy we would all be if we lived our lives based on his philosophies of running. I am already looking forward to reading his next book!

Perfect for runners - great for anyone else!
I loved reading this book. The author is very knowledgeable about running and offers a brief discussion on various running topics such as form, mechanics, attire, creating a training program, stretching, and much more. He also describes two of the ultra marathons that he ran which helps the reader better understand what they can expect for this type of race. My favorite part about this book is how the content can be applied to any challenge. The author spends a lot of time discussing his mindset rather than his skill as a runner. He makes it clear that he considers himself an "average" runner and that he attributes his success to his determination and dedication. It's a great lesson that you can achieve anything you set your mind to. Inspiring and enjoyable - I recommend it to anyone!

Enjoy a great book!
The Ultra Mile by Tim Wills is above all a joy to read. Throughout the first five parts of the book, Tim tells us with rewarding details about the philosophical, technical and practical features necessary for anyone to become a passionate distance runner. Very important stuff, very well written. There is, however, a special moment in the book. It’s Part 6, the last two chapters dedicated to his two 100-mile races, where all this content finds the ultimate meaning. In his account of those races, Tim manages to crystallize, in a well-rounded substance, both the valuable information about running he arranged for us and the real experience of running, all in a very entertaining manner. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a good read, be it a runner or a couch potato (there’s always time to change your ways!)
