Good read
I'm always trying to find a character as good as tanner and I think I've found him I like a vicious assassin I've read a few books that equal the tanner series he is my all time favorite but the silence series might interesting I thought this 1st book was good but I'm hoping now the real assassin will come out and be ruthless when he's dealing with evil people I'm starting the next book now

Good story... Shallow characters
This is a well written book and is entertaining to read. I have finished the series and book 1 has the most character development, but it is still pretty light. The series is somewhat formulaic within its genre, the characters are shallow and meet the basic good guy/bad guy archetype, and the storyline is predicable. That being said, the stories are entertaining and are a nice brain break.

Silence speaks Volumes
Great start to the series. I really liked the story and characters. Carter does a great job setting things up. Parts were a little verbose and the book could have ended 15 pages earlier but Silence is likable and this had good supporting characters and villains. This is the beginning of a fun series

The first and most touching of the series.
I've read this book when was published. I already gave the five stars, but I think that I didn't leave a review. This story is touching and suspenseful. A truly star-crossed lovers with a lot of action.Monica Beltrami. Montevideo, Uruguay.

No - Rating 2 out of 5.
No sadly, this book seems like a pot-boiler, and despite it's May 9th 2021 publication date in the back and it apparently being the start of the Silence Jones series, I note there's 4 other books also already available. Not as book I'd recommend to anyone I'm afraid, as it also contained several errors of chronology, and repeated uses of the same adjective in the same paragraph...sometimes in the same sentence. The geographical descriptions of Pensacola and Florida lacked credence and didn't add anything to the sense of the storyline. The major flaw I found however was other than briefly at the opening of the book when the Pete Hudson character was described, I wasn't at all invested in the main character or his revengeful rampage that was really all the book was. One highlight was Tanner, a very well drawn and quite likeable character. If I were the author I'd write novels based on him and get shot of Silence (literally).

Great Start To A New Series
My first book by this author, and the first in a new series, good to catch a new series from the beginning.THEY TOOK HIS LOVE.THEY TOOK HIS VOICE.HE’LL TAKE THEIR LIVES.Before he became a vigilante assassin, a legend feared by criminals, Silence Jones’s previous life was stolen from him in one night—his fiancée murdered, his throat crushed, and his face destroyed. His brutal revenge leaves behind a long trail of mangled bodies, which captures the attention of a covert group hidden in plain sight within U.S. government. The organization makes Silence an irresistible offer: if he joins their ranks as an assassin, they’ll lend their full support to his blood-soaked rampage. But when Silence discovers that the people who killed his fiancée have much bigger plans in mind—plans with deadly implications for national security—his mission suddenly shifts focus from vengeance to duty. A catastrophe is ready to explode, and the only person who can stop it is an untested assassin. The first standalone action thriller in the pulse-pounding new series. Enter the world of Silence Jones. Hold on tight…Being the first in the series there are flashbacks, which normally I do not like but I have the full understanding of the importance of introducing a new character, new story and a good history, which this does well.Well paced action thriller, of course my favourite type of thriller. As a reader you will learn Silence Jones is "No superhero", he makes his mistakes and pays for it.A great start to the action thriller series, which is filled with great authors and even more bad authors. Some good ones mentioned below. If you like action heroes with the steely resolve of Lee Child’s Jack Reacher, the calculating will of Gregg Hurwitz’s Orphan X, and the raw power of Mark Greaney’s Gray Man, Tom Wood's Victor the Assassin, Kerry J Donovan's Ryan Kaine, Steven Konkoly's Ryan Decker, Ben Coes's Dewey Andreas and Mark Dawson's John Milton then you’ll love Silence Jones.

Too many flashbacks.
Made a change from the usual Jack Reacher clones .Different character , original idea .Easy to read .But .... far too many flashbacks .Would prefer the book and character to live in the moment , not the past.

Had potential but failed for me
Sadly I do not enjoy stories that go back and forth in time. A bit like the climax at the end of episode 1 that concludes at the start of episode 3 as episode 2 goes elsewhere. Secondly he either moves like greased lightning or …….he doesn’t and gets beaten. No, no more me
