A great story with surprises at every turn!
You will laugh from the very beginning. The heroine is easy to relate to and you fall in love with her as she sets out to find her place in her family, her place in the workforce. Her place in relationships and her voice as a writer. This book is full of wit and humor alongside real struggles. Just when you think you know what might happen the twists and turns keep you guessing until the whopper of surprise ending. I loved it the whole way though. Corie Skolnick has written a tale that captures today's young women's journeys to find their way in the world as well as to accept themselves and their families in it. It would be a perfect mini series!

Heartstopping AND heartwarming
Corie Skolnick is my favorite modern author. Her books are clever, humorous, and insightful. I just finished reading America's Most Eligible, and my heart is still racing from the plot twists and unforeseeable ending. Am I really supposed to get anything done in the remainder of the day? That is unlikely. I want to spend some quiet time reflecting on this amazing tale....and I want to take the journey again, starting with page 1!

DIZZY with DELIGHT ! ! !
I'm still DIZZY with DELIGHT.....from all the twists and turns that the fascinating main character encounters along her writing journey! I'm left with the feeling I could actually hop on a plane and go visit any one of the supporting characters....and only wish that I could ~ they've become THAT REAL for me! Such a fabulously entertaining book weaving the journey of life many of us have experienced at the hand of our own family's secrets and lies. LOVED the authors use of today's dialect and slang and oh boy does she have a great command of it. Just wish I could toast author Corie Skolnick with a solid *clink* of Russian vodka and salute her in person for yet another extremely well written story!!! FYI...for whatever reason I had a difficult time getting started in this book. I had to reread the beginning several times. My head? My brain? Dunno. All I do know is that I (thankfully) made it to a point where I was hooked and hooked solid and couldn't wait to continue reading and had to strongly resist pulling an all-nighter reading marathon. ***smiles***

Witty and Genuine
I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun and entertaining book that will make you laugh and think. It was hilarious, quirky and highly entertaining.I enjoyed Corey’s first book - Orfan - so much that I had high expectations and it exceeded them. I brought it on vacation and couldn’t wait for beach time, to get back to her hilarious tale of family, love and a young woman’s journey to make it on her own as a writer in California.Corie’s style of writing is unique and refreshing, just like her characters.I especially enjoyed how she rebelliously and wittingly broke all of her own rules for writing a novel.

And funny! I loved Athena and could relate/empathiza a lot ...
A really enjoyable read. And funny! I loved Athena and could relate/empathiza a lot to her voice and plight as a fledgling writer. And I both appreciated and enjoyed all the writing rules speckled throughout the narrative. The story was light yet touched on real and deeper issues surrounding parenthood, romantic relationships and family secrets. It felt very current and very LA - all surrounding the world of fiction/screen writing and coming-of-age in the millennial generation. I was waiting for Athena's name (and the Greek Eye of God on the cover) to pay off - and it ALL did - in an absolutely delightful and unexpected way. I see another movie adaption in Skolnick's horizon.

Entertaining, funny, and smart!
Corie Skolnick’s writing is so wonderfully unique, I honesty can’t imagine not liking this book, no matter your genre preference. Written through the eyes of Athena Cervantes, the snarky, intelligent journalist and would-be novelist, Skolnick breaks many of the so-called rules writers are warned to heed and proves that if you have a way with words, which this author inarguably does, the “rules” don’t apply. Each time I put this book down, I couldn’t wait to pick it up again and that’s not something I say often, even about books I enjoy. With a plot that gets a little twisty toward the end, America’s Most Eligible will definitely make you laugh. Entertaining, funny, and smart!

America's Most Readable
Yes, I loved it! Corie Skolnick had me at "Orfan" (her first book) and while this book is very different, it is just as compelling. Sharp, witty and insightful; and filled with so many great cinematic moments. I'm not sure what the other reviewers meant by saying she "broke the rules" of writing...but if she did, I hope she keeps on doing it!

Wow, AME Captivated Me
I don't often read fiction, but when I do I read Corie's stories because I know it will be a journey worth taking, full of color and twists and turns!
