My info on how I made it
I read all the other reviews looking for tips and quantities for this cupcake pan and decided to make it. I used a yellow cake mix recipe from a well-respected cook book. The recipe yields a 9x13, 2 8 inch or 2 9 inch rounds. So 1 store bought cake mix or scratch recipe should be fine if it yields the same amounts. This particular recipe made about 6 cups of cake batter. Any recipe that creates 5-6 cups of batter should work fine. I greased and floured both sides of the cupcake pan and put 3.5 cups of cake mix in the “bottom” side of the cupcake pan and baked for 10 minutes in preheated 325 degree oven. Then I filled the “top” side of the pan with the remaining batter (about 2.5 cups) and baked both for 50 minutes. I checked with a toothpick for doneness and let rest for 10 minutes then I ran an offset spatula around the edges of each to loosen from pan and turned out onto a cooling rack. The actual cupcake measured 5 inches at the very bottom of the cupcake and 6 inches at its widest part and it was 3 inches tall, not including the roughly 1/2 inch of cake that will need to be removed from the top to make perfectly flat. The top part of the cupcake is 6 inches wide at its base and 3 inches tall, also not including the roughly 1/2 inch that will need to be cut off to make flat. Keep in mind, ovens vary so your results may be a bit different. I hope this gives someone a good place to start though! It’s an adorable cupcake!

great pan
I used this pan for a 1st birthday party smash cake. The first time I divided up one cake mix and cooked the bottom about 10 min before I poured in the top. This seemed not quite large enough and it did burn a little. I then used a whole cake mix for the bottom and baked it first. Then used about 3/4 of a mix for the top and baked it separately. It turned out wonderful!!!!!

Easy to clean and durable.
This is slightly smaller than a 6" round cake can. It is easy to use easy to clean and super durable. I don't know how often I will use it but I'm glad that I bought it.

This is a bit bigger than I expected. Used a whole cake mix between the two cupcake halves. There are no baking instructions so I used the time & temperature suggested for a bundt cake noted on the cake mix box. The cake cooked evenly between the two halves and the finished product was cute and delicious.

The pan works great! you just want to make sure you grease and flour the pan well. I put the cake on the bottom rack and found that it cooked well and did not over cook the top side of the cupcake.

PERFECT CAKE SMASH!
Perfect cake smash cupcake! buttered the pan and nothing go stuck at all. It does take a little more then a box of mix though to actually make a full cake and the suggested amount per section was a bit off for what I had made, but I know for next time.

be careful not to overfill and grease!
Even though this is "non stick", with the shape be sure to grease and flour this pan to make removal easier. Also DO NOT over fill - can be difficult to determine how much batter to add, but err on the side of less to keep the shape and prevent overflow.

Cupcake Cake Pan
Used my own recipe (not a box mix) for the cake so it had to be baked for a long time. I baked both halves separately since the top required less time than the bottom.

I have never had any problems with the chocolate coming out of the cake pan when used as a mold would recommend this product
Have used this pan many times! It is a bit smaller than the "Wilton" giant cupcake pan but the amount of batter each side takes is more even so both sides take about the same amount of time to cook. When making a cake in this pan I make a chocolate cupcake liner to put the cake in and then frost the top with buttercream. I have never had any problems with the chocolate coming out of the cake pan when used as a mold would recommend this product!
