Great protection, Looks Cheap.
The case looks really well crafted to fit the phone without issue. But, It looks cheap. Surface looks unfinished like bare aluminium. Id be ok with it but the color is wrong. i ordered a gold one expecting it to be gold. Instead i get Silver withe a gold back. Im returning it and getting a black one to at least get matching colors. Gold and black look good together.

Initial thoughts
Packaging 1/5 stars. Comes in bubble wrap with all items just clustered inside. See PicsQuality and craftsmanship 3/5. Looking at the case, the frame looks like just hard plastic. Aluminum is super light, so based off weight and looks it's hard to tell it's actually a metal, but it is. I have a problem with the "padding" between the frame and the phone. Iran just a sticky fuzz strip lined inside. Won't provide any buff whatsoever. I'm afraid of how the energy will transfer through the case onto the phone, since there is basically no padding, the metal on metal will surely cause damage to the phone. The buttons don't even have a mechanism that keeps them fully lifted . They're just metal pieces inserted into a slot and held to keep from falling out by the sticky strip. Terrible in my opinion. See PicsAs for port/ switch accessibility, the cutouts are super deep. I can't even access the silent switch with my fingers. I keep my nails super short and I can't even keep the switch forcing my finger into the cutout. The sleep/ wake and volume buttons all work fine with no issue and I actually like that it still has the same clickability of the naked iPhone. Charger and headphone port are deep too, but I don't find them a problem. Unfortunately I can't take pictures of the phone inside the case because I have nothing else to take pictures with.My BIGGEST CONCERN is that the phones screen seems to be flush with the front of the case. This of course will provide no protection from a flat face fall. I have a tempered glass screen protector and it actually protrudes past the case! From a side view I can see the screen protector! It's good for not adding any thickness to the iPhone, but man I'd still have a heart attack if my phone fell. Looks great on the phone, but as a daily driver I'd be constantly worried about dropping it still.2 stars for looks and material quality. Loses 3 stars due to lack of any form of screen protection (protruding lips, etc) and the cheap quality in build of the case. The phone does look good in the case, but since my piece of mind isn't there in the protection department, I can't give it a good protective case rating.

Love this case and it's what I call Me proof considering I hate phone cases frequently remove them causing me to break my phones the screws make it a annoyance for me to take off to remove the case which will ensure my phones protection

Left Scrathes on my Coffee Table
It's a great looking case. Once I had it screwed on though I put it on my my coffee table and it left scratches in the wood. I'm guessing it's from the screws.

Super cool case! with a couple flaws (imo)
I just received this case not long ago and let me say, over all, I really like it! However, there are a few things I am not so excited about with it.Please read through to get my full opinion!Firstly, I would like to go over what they did right,The aluminum was kept relatively thick, allowing it to be more ridged and harder to bend out of shape, aluminum cases I have had in the past have often been extremely thin metal which resulted in them bowing and not fitting to the phone well in a very short period of time. *thumbs up to CaseUp for this*The buttons on it allow for a very positive feel still, some cases make the volume and lock buttons feel pretty mushy and even get stuck, these seem to give a very positive click feel with every button press just as they should feel *another thumbs up*The phone fits perfectly in this case with zero wiggle, I LOVE THAT! the back plate fits on nicely as well, and the clear panel allows for either a clean (and protected) view of the apple logo, OR what I did was print out an image that I liked and laid it under the plastic back cover for a bit of added personality as well as allowing me to identify my phone quicker and easier from the back. It is a super quick and easy way to personalize your phone beyond just this awesome case, without adding bulk. The holes that are milled for access to the ports are much larger than most other cases I have ever used. I would say they made them as large as they possibly could, while maintaining a clean look and strong case still, this will allow for a wider use of aftermarket lightning cables and accessories than would otherwise be able, that being said, this case is a somewhat thick piece of aluminum, so if the device has to sit right up against the phone (such as a card reader) this may not be the best case for that use, especially since it takes 4 screws to remove it.Overall I really do like this case and would recommend it to most people, that being said there are some downsides to it.Firstly, as I said before, it is held together with 4 screws. I really like this look, and it makes for a very secure case, however, if you ever have the need to take your phone out of the case, it will require a Phillips head screw driver. This was something I had not thought of before owning a case such as this, and although I have yet to have a situation where it became an issue, I felt it important to note, as if you do need to remove your case often, this would be a real downside.Next this case does not have a great deal of protection against larger drops, it has a thin felt like tape along the inside of the aluminum to stop from scratches and help cushion a slight bit, but beyond that, it is pretty close to 0 in this area.On that same note, unlike a lot of other cases, this one seems to fit in a way that sits about flush with the screen, rather than slightly above it. I have a tempered glass screen protector on my phone, so if I actually set my phone screen down on a surface, the screen is directly touching the surface. that is a little bit of a bummer in my opinion, would have loved to see this case come slightly higher than the screen to help protect it if you set it face down OR if dropped and it lands screen down.Lastly, I think the actual button nubs of this case protrude a little too far I would have liked them to be only slightly protruded from the case to help prevent accidental presses, that being said, I have not had an issue with them yet, and if an issue occurred it would be simple to fix with a little sand paper.Overall, due to the quality nature of this case, as it really is machined well, I only felt the need to deduct 1 star, most issues I have with it are more of a personal preference than an actual error with the case. I would, at this time, most certainly recommend this case to most looking!I received this product at a discount in exchange for an honest review.
