Nice quality, Crisp Sound, Excellent Length. Works Great with Extending Headsets While Working In an Office
Wonderfully long and I purchased the 12ft cord size so that I can distance myself from my cell phone while talking; trying to avoid being too close to my cell, radiation etc, however, I am still looking to get a Bluetooth which will be more helpful in this regards. Besides this, I really purchased this to work with my headphone/headset, I want to be able to speak and walk in my office when I need to while wearing my headset. My headset cord is 6 ft and with this added cord its perfect, and of course like I mentioned before so that my phone is not so close to me while I'm speaking on it while wearing my headset. A nice part is that I can use this for my music and it connects to my headphones and extends the distance. I can listen from across the room, and also while watching TV etc when I want to mute the sound for others while still hearing or listening to my favorite shows or music. At first I had a problem which I believe was due to my headset, after plugging it in several times it seemed to fix it, I don't think it had anything to do with this cord. Instead the headset I'm more worried about in regards to the buzzing I heard. I tested this cord again on my computer and on another persons phone and it was crisp and perfect. I do recommend this item if you need to have extra distance while enjoying music, shows, talking on a phone, or when using it with your headset in your office when you want to talk and walk while working.

$5 buy it worksss
Worked perfectly needed it to stretch from tv to bed on cheap head phones for night tv without waking others! Connection clicked in tightly no static disconnect sounds. Not sure how thick cable should be lol but it looks “normal” please don’t cancel me for using that word it’s a wire haha and flexibility umm it can stretch out and wrap back up. It fit in plug how it’s supposed too! 5 doll hairs but it.

A life-saver for those with short headphone cables.
Like many others, I use wired headphones with my computer. Unfortunately, the cable was a little bit short to comfortably use. If I moved slightly too far to the side, the headphones would pull on my head. After a while, I decided that I'd like to be a little bit less limited by my headphones, so I picked up these to extend the length of the wire. And that they do! I can move as far as I need to without any tugging. This cable may be somewhat long for some, but the length of the cable is listed, so this is just a note, rather than a criticism. The only real "criticism" that I have is that the connectors felt somewhat heavy at first, but I am figuring that this is due to durable construction.Overall, these are a great value for the money, and have no perceptible difference in sound quality in my experience. I would absolutely recommend these to a friend.

Very well shielded
This is a typical 3 pin stereo cable (tip, first ring, and ground). I used this as a pluggable cord for a lab sensor, and I needed it to have a shield. So I opened up one to check, and found that it is very WELL shielded. There is a tightly wrapped foil shield along with an uninsulated drain wire, and of course the two signal conductors (internally red and white). The wire gauge is quite small but certainly appropriate for this kind of cable. I would estimate it to be about 26 AWG, and it is stranded so it should do well for headphone use and survive well with reasonable amounts of flexing and normal movement. Since it is well shielded it should also do very well for a low level signal connections.I noticed others complaining about hum, which it cannot be this cable (it is shielded). It has to be the AV equipment being used. Hum in AV equipment is actually more often due to the poor power supply line voltage isolation if they are using "double insulated" internal supplies in the AV equipment. If your AV equipment has only a two prong AC plug like is common to the US, that is exactly what is being done. If there is too much capacitance through the internal isolation transformer, the 60Hz / mains frequency couples right in. The only solution there is to use a separate grounding wire between AV equipment and/or an audio ground loop transformer.

Very useful, works great
Needed this for my headphones because the wire that came with that was too short. This item is easy to connect as an extension and works great.

Defective right from the start - TWICE
As several other 1* reviews have noted, this Amazon Basics cable was defective right from the start. If the headphones are plugged in all the way, so it snaps securely, almost no sound comes through at all. It's barely detectable. If you plug the headphone jack in only partway and manage to find the perfect sweet spot, you can get better sound -- but obviously that doesn't provide a very secure connection. This cable is obviously very cheaply made, with zero quality control. It's just garbage.Naturally, I initiated a return, and Amazon offered to ship me a brand new one free of charge, and helpfully they said I didn't even have to return the defective cable. Fine, I thought, I can wait a few more days. The new package arrived swiftly, but YOU GUESSED IT, the new cable is defective in exactly the same way.Note that the problem is definitely with the Amazon Basics cable. Both performed the same way with every set of headphones in the house, and on multiple different devices. It is clear from the other reviews mentioning the same problem that this is a widespread problem with Amazon Basics cables. Whole batches are probably defective, and they KNOW IT, and they're still shipping them out anyway with no quality control. This time I asked for my money back, and of course now I DO have to go to the trouble to ship their garbage back to them. I am done with Amazon Basics products. RAISE YOUR STANDARDS, Amazon!
