When grown indoors, this miniature trailing plant spills beautifully out of hanging baskets and small containers. In warmer areas, it can be planted outside, where it forms a dense, mat-like perennial ground cover. In the summer and fall, look for small white flowers to appear among the densely-packed oval leaves. Peek under the leaves' undersides, and you will see a reddish color. Callisia repens is native to South America, Central America, and the Caribbean. Plant in full sun to partial shade, but be sure to provide plenty of bright light.
