4 Pack Caster Wheels Swivel Plate On Red Polyurethane Wheels (3 inch with Brake)

(This report is an update after 6 months of use of these casters - only minor edits and no change in stars)I do woodworking a as (fairly serious) hobby, and recently I wanted to rearrange my shop. While that sounds easy (and is in concept), I decided to put all of the major hardware on wheels. That really meant "the REST of the hardware" as the table- and band-saws were already on wheels, as were the drill press, one of the router tables, and both vacuum systems. So really I only had to "mobilize" the other router table. the jointer, and the planer I had wheels for the 2nd router table already (though I hadn't installed them yet) so started by getting this set for the jointer.I'm happy to report that after building a frame to attach to the jointer's stand's legs (It's the RIDGID, BTW), these installed in only a few minutes. And the most difficult (read time-consuming) part was lifting one end of the jointer to put the frame and wheels on the first 2 legs on one end and then repeating that same step for the other pair.)The installation went very smoothly, and I'm happy to report that:a) the full locking of the wheels (no rotate, no roll) works perfectly;b) unlocking is as easy and painless as locking - with the desired results no less; andc) the 200-lb plus jointer now rolls easy and steps over power cords and the like with no problems. The capacity for these casters is 250-lbs each, so while I don't plan to add a ton of weight to its top to see what would happen, it did work will with 4 50-lb lead blocks added to the jointer (just to see what would happen).So far these have given me no problems whatsoever and I would recommend them to anyone who needs a set of casters in this size and load range.UPDATE AT 6 MONTHS: They still work perfectly, exactly as they did on day 1. I'm a very happy camper and have just ordered another set for the other router table.

I'd like to preface by saying that in 11 years of being part of Amazon this is the first time I was compelled to write a review. And to reiterate the title, I somehow reached a point in my life that has me excited about casters. They make my workshop so much better.Being said, I have a small garage workshop with the typical woodworking equipment that take up a good amount of space - workbench, table saw, miter saw, band saw, etc, and I wanted to make them all mobile whether it be to maneuver things around the shop or to set everything up in the driveway so I can enjoy some good weather.I stumbled upon these casters and read the reviews which were all great, and for a similar price to the local hardware store's casters I figured I try them. When I received them I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the set - heavy duty build, ball bearing swivel, thick metal, large brake pedal, large mounting plate, and included 1 inch lags & washers to mount them.After mounting them to my workbench with the supplied hardware it was effortless to move it from the garage to the driveway. Mind you, I'm going from concrete onto an older asphalt pavement with some cracks and bumps; the wheel itself is strong and has good grip, allowing it to glide over the pavement with ease. And I should mention that a 3 inch caster is ideal for my equipment, a larger wheel might even be better, but no way would I go smaller. The brake pedal can easily be toggled on and off by pressing with your foot. And get this, the brake actually works well. Not only does it keep the wheels from rolling but it keeps the whole caster from swiveling.I'm simply very happy with this purchase, these casters are top notch. Definitely recommend them

The casters work great, easy to install and use (lock and unlock). I installed mine in about 1 & 1/2 inches in - on the corners and they still work fine but I would suggest you get closer to the edge. This makes it easier to access lock / unlock kick piece.

Here's my review of the product along with some issues/suggestions: I received the casters a day late because Amazon Logistics had issues (more on that at the end). The casters appear to be top-notch quality and my workbench, while three inches taller, is easily movable now so I can clean dirt under and behind it or retrieve a fallen tool or part without having to lay flat on my dirty floor. Note: the casters come without any screws whatsoever and no mounting instructions. Just a bag with the four casters. I understand that doing so might only complicate matters, depending on the material to which the casters are being attached. However, the lack of screws/bolts was not clear from the product description. It could be that I just didn’t read carefully enough. Nevertheless, I had to squirrel through my miscellaneous screws and bolts and washers to find suitable fasteners to connect the casters to the legs of my workbench – which are double-2x4s. The casters’ mounting holes were *just* close enough for me to mount them by drilling pilot holes angled inward toward the center of the 2x4s. Typical mounting instructions would be a nice addition, along with recommendations on the screw type/size and length (I think I used 3-inch bolts and screws -- remember to drill pilot holes to avoid splitting your wood!). It took a little creativity and resourcefulness but now that they’re mounted, my workbench is just the way I want it – and completely mobile! Four stars because of lack of mounting instructions or screws/bolts. The omission is understandable given the price points. Better communication that this product is all that you will get (no bolts, no instructions, just casters) or, better, including these items would result in a full five star review. Note to Amazon Logistics: I realize Amazon is trying to get creative to reduce delivery expenses from USPS, UPS, or FedEx. But your "civilian" approach is lacking on a number of levels. The first delivery we received from AMZNL (aka. Amazon Logistics) resulted in a police incident since the "delivery person" provided no identity information, was dressed in jeans, T-shirt, and a man-bun, driving a beat up jalopy that suggested he could just as easily be an intruder than a delivery person representing AMZNL. He knocked on the door and demanded my family member's name as a precondition to handing over the package. Sorry, our home doesn't operate that way. With this latest delivery, I got multiple texts from AMZNL, the first stating that the delivery would be delayed and the second stating that the package was undeliverable due to damage and provided a link to cancel the order. After the first debacle, I called Amazon and got transferred five(!) times to address the problem that nearly got your delivery person arrested. I wasn't looking forward to trying to contact you again to untangle this knot of your own making. Fortunately, patience paid off and the casters were delivered the next day. Amazon really needs to fix the logistics of their Logistics delivery service. Give them proper ID to assure customers that this gnarly-looking character on the porch is not an intruder using my package delivery as an excuse to gain entrance. Take a page from Lyft and compile a DB of drivers photos and their cars to include a text notification when a package gets assigned to an AMZNL driver for delivery. Take all of the mystery (and fear) away from your customers.

They are easy to install and are quiet and smooth

Was trying to get a set of four FactorDuty castors, but they were no longer available so bought these instead. The 3-inch castor wheels are ideal for moving an 8-ft x 6-ft table around the workshop area. The locking mechanism works well (stops the castor rotating as well as locking the wheel) and it's also easy to unlock. All round very happy with these.
