It does have a cm scale on the perimeter, but the main grid is measured in inches (1/2 in squares).

Is the actual measurement of the mat 36x48 or is that the grid with about a half in added all around the measurements?

Actual measurement of the mat grid is 34x461/2 with an added 1/2 all the way around, making the overall size 37x471/2.

Does this mat have a strong odor? A lot of these self healing mats are described as having a 'strong, chemical or toxic' smell. Does this one? Thx

No, it doesn't have an odor. However, it is NOT self-healing. Don't buy this mat if that's what you're looking for.

Is this mat reversible? If so, is the back also printed or is it plain black? Thanks

I don’t think it is reversible, mine is not printed on the back. However, it may still be able to be used, it’s just not printed or marked. It will still protect a surface though from damage.
