A grisly homicide... a sensational trial... a forbidden affair it's JAGGED EDGE, a razor-sharp suspense thriller about crime, punishment and passion. Jeff Bridges is the prime suspect and Glenn Close plays the attorney who falls in love with him. When a San Francisco socialite is viciously murdered, her publisher-husband, Jack Forrester (Bridges), is accused of committing the crime. Teddy Barnes (Close) decides to defend the charming, manipulative Jack, only to disregard legal ethics by having an affair with him. With the help of private eye Sam Ransom (Robert Loggia), she takes on a ruthless District Attorney (Peter Coyote) who's using the case as a political stepping stone. However, a startling revelation puts Teddy in jeopardy of becoming the next victim of the JAGGED EDGE.

Still a great thriller!
A mid1980s hit, the film still packs a punch owing to the terrific acting by Glenn Close, Peter Coyote and Jeff Bridges. Sumptuous settings and costumes offer a wistful look at the styles and decor of 40 years ago while the evolution of the plot resonates well today.

Exceptional Film
Glenn Close's suits are freaking stunning. She's in great shape, the fit is custom on all her courtroom suits, and they are working hard. Men's suits are also custom and exceptional. Acting is top shelf. Glenn Close is on the top of her game. Great old-school stylized film.

A classic!
"Jagged Edge" is like the love child of a legal thriller and a '80s hair band concert. It's got more twists and turns than a rollercoaster designed by a caffeine-addicted snake. As for the edge? Well, it's so sharp, you might just cut yourself on those perfectly coiffed '80s hairstyles.Prepare for suspense so thick, you'll need a machete to hack your way through it. Plus, it's got courtroom drama that'll have you questioning the integrity of every attorney you've ever met. In short, "Jagged Edge" is a wild ride that's as jagged as a rockstar's guitar solo. Watch it and see if you can keep up – bonus points if you can mimic the hair afterward!

Very suspenseful but too many F bomb words for me
Great storyline making it a really good suspense murder mystery movie, however, very brief female nudity in 2 areas which the producers didn't have to do, and in my opinion NOT for under 18.. There's swearing and a generous use of the F-bomb word. That is why I gave it 3 stars instead of five. There was no need for any of that, and it would have been just as good a movie. Producers can be so lame. Definitely not for a movie night with the kids.

Great Film Experience.
Every woman in Law School should have the privilege of seeing this film at least once in their lives. Watching this again thirty-odd years after first viewing it several times on cable in the 1980's reinforced my admiration for the acting skills of the phenomenal Glenn Close, the superb Jeff Bridges, the near-forgotten Peter Coyote, and the movie's only Oscar nominee the utterly terrific Robert Loggia. Bridges (who decades later would win an Oscar for playing a much more sympathetic character) was perfectly cast as the womanizing newspaper publisher accused of killing his heiress wife with a jagged knife, but Close had her best role to date (two years before Fatal Attraction) as a reluctant attorney who falls in love with this heel. All of the other performances were uniformly excellent, as was the chilling score by Academy-Award winner John Barry, who was not nominated for this. Neither were Close or Bridges. Screenwriter Joe Eszterhas never equaled this stunning masterpiece, although his 1989 screenplay Music Box garnered a Best Actress Oscar nomination for Jessica Lange some five years later, and he would receive a record-breaking three million dollars for his script Basic Instinct, the 1992 blockbuster that made Sharon Stone a star. As with Close in this 1985 classic, Lange also portrayed a lady lawyer defending a dubious client. I also like Guilty as Sin starring Rebecca DeMornay (who defended a reprehensible Don Johnson) an under-rated 1990 flick directed by the late great Sidney Lumet, which was obviously inspired by Jagged Edge, the very best of the four movies mentioned.

Well done, Frau Close, Herr Bridges, Herr Coyote, Herr Loggia und Herr Marquand....
