What is the difference between cutting compound and rubbing compound?

Hi, can I use this to remove scratches on my motorhome windows which say they called poly plastic ?

Hi I used it for my headlight lenses which are glass , it is a fine grade compound .so should not leave scratches.but to be safe I would use it on a piece where if it did scratch it would not be noticeable,hope this helps.
