Firstly to try and be completely fair - a 4400 mAh battery would never give 800 lumens for long and it states in the write-up UP to 800 lumens. To achieve the claimed 6 hrs running at the "hi" setting the LEDs have to run dimmer. [I would expect the same of other products, running time/brightness being a trade-off.What appears to happen is the the LEDs run at a maximum brightness for 5-6 minutes before dimming to a noticeably lower light level - which is ideal if you want to pop out to the shed for a few minutes - as it is very bright. It maintains a steady lower light level for hours and I had to test it over two evenings. This 1) confirms it gives 5-6 minutes at maximum brightness each time you switch it on and 2) after a total of over 7 hrs running in the 'hi' mode it was still giving a steady light. This is adequate to light up a small room, but not for extended reading time.The instructions recommend recharging if not used for a fortnight, almost certainly because the internal circuitry is drawing a small current all the time. I left it three weeks and it took about an hour to top it up. An excellent feature is that the LED built into the on-off switch flashed red continually when charging and turns to green flashing when fully charged.It has an output to top up a mobile phone, which would be useful in an emergency.Given the prospect of power outages this winter I'm considering purchasing another.

I purchased this rechargeable lamp as a back up in case we are going to cope with power cuts this coming winter. I didn't want a lamp with removable batteries but wanted a lamp that I could charge up and store away in case of power cuts and was bright enough to use for as long as was needed. There are 2 brightness levels which are both good enough for a normal size house living room. We have not needed the lamp so far so cannot verify how long the lamp lasts without recharging but am satisfied with how easy it is to charge and to use.

I use this lamp for walking my dog. I clip the D-ring on the base of the lamp onto the loop of the lead, which leaves a hand free for cleaning up. It offers good illumination for that task, the battery life is a bit shorter than advertised and there doesn't seem to be any warning of a low battery, so I have more than once been left in absolute darkness! This type of lamp doesn't go dim when the battery is getting too low, it just goes out! So I have to carry a small rechargeable torch too. On that subject, it does take 8 hours to charge, which seems excessive for such an item.

It is easy to put on and provides a good light,great if the electricity fails and is better and safer than candles

It wasn't my first choice ( I wanted the LE Lantern ) but given the long lead times on that, this will do.2 levels of brightness ( both of which are fine to illuminate my living room ), two choices of hooks ( including a caribiner ) and the ability to charge a phone from the lantern. Decent enough features for the price. I'm never going to be putting this to extreme tests, or challenging it with possible rain ingress.... but for emergency diffused lighting for the home - it'll do just fine.

Amazed how bright this light is. Bought it for power cuts we have had recently. Added bonus that it is a powerbank too, can charge your phone or laptop up. Has 3 settings but only used one so far.Such a good buy have brought one as a gift for a camping friend.

On the whole these lamps are very good, v bright that I don't have to turn on the main light in the evening. Even in my living room, which is quite large, 1 does the job.The couple of down sides: 1) one of the lamps takes a very long time to charge, and doesn't have as long a battery life.2) I wished it could also take batteries in addition to charging.
