I own all 35 books released so far in this series.
I, of course, have my favorites in this series, and this is one. This book is full of humor, and I mean the laugh-out-loud kind. All the books in this series contain humor. It is what Lyndsay Sands is known for. The idea of an accidental vampire protected by a whole town is hilarious. Sands skillfully weaves together the personalities of the citizens and the four male immortals who answer an ad placed by friends of the town's only vampire Elvie. The ad intended to find a mate for Elvie because all her lifelong friends were aging and starting to pass away, and they did not want Elvie left alone. All this makes for a fun romp through misunderstandings and mysteries. Despite all this, romance and love find a way for several visiting male immortals. Though each book is a stand-alone, it is best to start at the beginning because there are recurring visits from characters from previous books.

The Accidental Vampire
Elvi's life during the past five years has sucked! Literally. She went on a trip to Mexico with her best friend Mabel, got into a pretty nasty car accident and woke up a vampire. Now, Elvi has to sleep in a coffin, which is nowhere near as comfortable as her old king size bed. She doesn't have a reflection and worse yet - Elvi can't eat anything but blood! So far, though, Elvi has been doing fine, thanks to Mabel's help and all the townspeople helping Elvi cope and survive. So, when they all get together in order to find Elvi a vampire mate, they all end up with more than they bargained for - especially Elvi!Victor Argeneau has lived a long, long time. Frankly, he has been a little bored with life until his brother Lucien got him involved in the Vampire Council as an Enforcer seeking out vampire rogues. Currently, he has been sent to find out if the woman Elvi that has been subject to some very disquieting rumors is indeed a vampire. Because if Elvi is a vampire, Victor is going to have to turn her into the Council for punishment, maybe even for execution, for exposing the vampire community to mortals. But on arrival to the small town of Port Henry, Victor finds the last thing he expects - a clueless vampire that has been living according to every cliché ever conceived about Vampires and his very own lifemate. Will Victor be able to save Elvi from the wrath of the Council? And more importantly claim Elvi for his very own?The Accidental Vampire is a great continuation to the Argeneau saga, this time bringing us the story of Victor who has been morose and taciturn in previous books. This time Victor is accompanied by the ever-cheerful DJ who proves to be the comic to Victor's straight man. Victor is a charming character with his old-world charm and his bafflement in the face of the workings of the female mind. Elvi is a fun character as she quickly makes fun of herself and her situation when she discovers that she can once again enjoy the things she has been missing - like food, a bed or mirrors. I must say this book had me laughing out loud several times with the antics of Elvi and the townspeople that have pulled together to keep her alive. Elvi and Victor are great characters that will entertain you with their banter while the secondary characters will amuse you with their witty one-liners as well as a comic back-drop to the romance. The Accidental Vampire is an extraordinarily funny book full of interesting and charming characters that will keep you glued to your seat and turning the pages!Sabellareviewed for Joyfully Reviewed

Very funny
What starts as a case for Victor A. turns into finding his life mate. Also what starts out as a home town taking care of their own, Elvi finds anwers, new friends n love. Not to mention a murder plot foiled. Gotta love the Argeneau series.

Accidental vampire 🧛♀️
I love all four books. Are usually can’t wait for him to come out but somehow I’ve missed a few and then I reread if you been long time since I read them so they were like new to me. And this one he’s over 2000 years old and already had one lifemate so he didn’t think he would have another whenever in his long long life. But she is who he came to town to investigate. There was rumors that there was a vampire in this little town and nobody was supposed to know about him. Then he finds out that she’s been biting people and that’s against the laws. And then he finds out that he’s eating again which is a sure sign that he’s met his lifemate..Then things get interesting when somebody is trying to killer and he can’t figure out why anybody would killer because she’s there a pet at least that’s how he sees it in his eyes so he has to stay and find out what’s going on. It’s a cute book and how she became an accidental vampires even cuter.

Good Vampire romance novel, a light read.
Although just starting in the middle of the series, I really enjoy it so far. It has some humor, mystery, jealousy, and of course romance.Victor, from one of the most powerful immortal families, on business for the council goes to a small town in response to an ad in the personals looking for a male vampire as a life mate. Once arriving with his friend DJ, they find out that they are not the only immortal who answered the ad and that the friends of the vampire are the ones who actually put the ad in the personals. Victor and DJ find themselves in a predicament when Elvi (the female vampire) is Victor's life mate and her best friend Mabel (who is mortal) is DJ's life mate, since both of them have broken their laws although unintentionally. The fact that a life mate existing let alone finding them is so rare, both men find themselves having to chose to protect their laws, or the women they've come to love so much. It was a good book, I'll read it again as well as the others in the series, I found that it was very superficial and not having a lot of depth. Some might find that enjoyable, but I like to have some substance to mine. While the story line is I guess you could say "cute" some of the character's are aggravating due to their careless and naive personalities. Also the sex just seems to up and happen and over quickly, nothing really leading you up to it, not even a movie or dinner ;) All in all, a decent book.

LIGHT AND ENTERTAINING
The Accidental Vampire is an amusing story with great characters. It also gives a slightly different take on the standard Vampire Romance. Wherein the main characters are all in their 60's and the Vampires are decendents of Atlantis. This is also not a series that you need to read in order, which is great. It's nice to just pick up a book and not need a huge ammount of back story to know what's going on.Elvie Black was accidentally turned into a Vampire while vacationing in Mexico with her best friend. Upon returning home she watches Dracula in an attempt to understand how to live like a Vampire. She runs a B&B and is the star attraction at the local resturaunt where she gives birthday bites to the townsfolk. As her friends age they fear that she will be left alone and subsequently place a personals ad in the paper. This brings several sexy Vampire suiters into town all vying for Elvie's attention. One in particular, Victor Argeneau is an enforcer. Sent to take Elvie before the counsel as she is breaking the Vampire laws by feeding on humans and not keeping her immortal status a secret.Much hilarity ensues as all 5 suitors end up staying in the B&B over the following week, teaching Elvie how to be a Vampire. Two hilarious scenes stand out for me; one, after she learns that she can in fact eat, and makes a mad dash to the store in search of chocolate and cheesecake. (it's been 5 years) The other takes place after she's told that she doesn't have to sleep in a coffin. Elvie then takes all the men with her to purchase a new bed. The whole town becames a part of this amusing story as a comedy of errors results in someone trying to kill Elvie and Victor discovering that she might be his lifemate. This is a cute story and an easy read, Cheers!
