EpicProvisions Venison Sea Salt & Pepper Bars 12 count

I started buying a few other Epic meat bars at shop rite a couple months ago and I fell in love. I usually chose the turkey or beef in stores and they're great. I tried the bison and they are delicious as well, but I try to watch my fat content and typically choose leaner meats in my diet. That's why I wanted to change it up. I hadn't been able to find the venison bars in stores, so I went for ordering a whole box of it online. It was definitely worth the order - the venison meat bars are amazing and I plan on ordering it regularly now.That being said, "Epic" makes meat bars. These are not jerky in the traditional sense. Please do not buy this if you want some sodium-infested, wheat-added soy sauce garbage beef jerky. This is all natural for a reason, which means it's not going to live up to the standards of people who like to eat the cheap stuff.I've read some reviews about the dryness or some sort of "lack of jerky" idea. People, this is why we read labels. Please be informed of your purchase PRIOR to writing a bad review because you're making it crappy for the rest of us that are educated consumers and are consciously aware of our food choices.I'm not sure why the product list states "15g of protein." It's definitely 12 g when you check the nutrition label. Just stating the facts, and if Amazon posted this they should make that change asap.

I love that these are a cleaner snack. My son is pretty picky and he likes them! These bars are something I will be keeping on hand for a healthy snack.

Love these bars. I would have never chose Venison due to you know...Bambi. However, this has so much protein, is a little salty and peppery and has zero sugars. It helps me eat a filling breakfast on the go. Every other protein bar out there ( even the other Epics) have some sugar. So if you are looking for some easy, quick paleo, Keto, “Eat fat Get Thin” breakfast ideas- This is worth it. I didn’t give it 5 stars because it is not the cheese and cherry danish I really want.

Since I had never had a "meat bar" before ordering this, I wasn't sure what to expect.I love them! They are meaty, salty, savory, peppery, delicious. No weird flavors, not gamey AT ALL.Each bar was bigger than I was expecting.If you are expecting "jerky" or a "stick" of some kind, you might be disappointed. It's a meat bar. The flavor tastes almost exactly like the venison summer sausage our local butcher used to make when I was a kid. But it's much leaner than sausage so the texture is different.This product is a winner, I will be buying more.

Well, like a lot of similar reviewers I have to say YUKKKKK!! on two grounds.... One the taste is terrible....Two, it's now loaded with sugar..........unnecessary added junk> This is yet another example of corporate greed. Typical General Mills corporate style.....buy a small company for it's brand recognition and then add the Big Ag "formula" which means adulteration beyond recognition. Add sugar, speed up production and destroy the recipe and assume that dumb people will gobble it up. Disgusting. I had to throw the remainder of my order of two boxes out with the garbage. It got to be just nauseating and my bodily systems were rebelling against even opening a package. It's that bad. Tell me something: is it time for us to take action against this kind of tyranny? One way to begin is to avoid all the major brands that you know are in bed with Big Pharma, Big Ag, and Big Food brands. This is just one brand to avoid because they are part of the problem we face at the grocery store. And what do you suppose the execs are being paid to destroy otherwise good food in this manner? It's time for some serious changes before we all die of cancer.

Snack for between meals that doesn’t contain sugar and other harmful chemicals

I pick up a case of these whenever my partner and I go camping, so we can get a quick bit of protein if we need it. The venison bars have the best macros, but they also happen to be my favorite flavor. They taste like a very peppery jerky, without any sweetness or extra flavors, which I enjoy.Overall, they work well for trips, and just for keeping one in my purse should I need it.

For the cost, I feel it should at least allow 6 months or more before it is outdated(same for the beef by EPIC). It was delivered on 25 July 2024, and is out of date in August of this year. The meat itself, was disappointing, though better than the beef from the same company. Generally, it was lack-luster, at best. Will not purchase again.
