Glyph Technologies GPT50 Portable Hard Drive (1TB)

The gold standard in data back up. Excellent craftsmanship and provides a very solid warranty. The special winning feature is that you may actually power up your computer from this external drive. Great for use in conjunction with a more portable drive using the time machine application. This does require purchase (and cost based updates) of a proprietary software.

I use this drive as a backup for my iMac using Carbon Copy Cloner. A friend who works in the movie industry first introduced me to Glyph drives a few years ago because of their reliability and solid construction.

Great quality build and reliable data storage. It even coms in a nice plastic carrying case that isn't pretty but safely transports the drive and seems waterproof too!
