Great read
This series is a joy. I must say I haven't come across a bad book by this author. Highly recommend this series and the Vampire Knitting Club series.

Weighing up the Ingredients and the Evidence
In the third Great Baker's show instalment, Poppy is a contestant on a baking show filmed in the grounds of Broomewode Hall, but it's more than a culinary challenge that brings her there. She's recently discovered she's a witch, and has great intuition, but a shawl wrapped around her when she was wet on a doorstep leads her to a painting in the hall and an investigation to try and find family. This is a fun cosy paranormal crime series with Poppy investigating murders in every book and becoming friends with the other bakers and the village residents, whilst being haunted by sea ghost contestant Gerry and being followed by a cute cat called Gateaux. This is as light and sweet as the cakes she makes, but with every story, various mysteries grow and she is almost close to answers.Wonderful stuff.

Bonus recipe included
A Rolling Scone is the third paranormal cozy mystery in the The Great Witches Baking Show series. Poppy and her familiar Gateau are back in Somerset for the next round of the Bake off and she soon discovers that every person she talks too has the 'perfect' scone recipe and tells her about it in great detail. Unfortunately a death and Poppy's determination to find her birth mother begin to affect her baking skills. This is a good read but as Poppy is supposed to be a witch I would like a little more magic and a little less of Poppy constantly banging on about the same things as in the previous books. A little background is great but it is getting repetitive and nothing has really changed since the first book. That is only my opinion and I did enjoy the book overall. I definitely recommend it to all cosy paranormal mystery fans.

A Rolling Scone by Nancy Warren a tasty five-star read
A Rolling Scone by Nancy Warren a tasty five-star read. This is number three in the Great Witches Baking show series, they are stand-alone as each novel focuses on a different episode of the show and a different mystery with an underlying current. Poor Poppy has her work cut out for her in more ways than one this episode, let’s hope a Bundt Instrument brings a better taste to her week. I find Poppy to be a great character and I really like Gateau; she seems to have her wits about her and I suspect knows more than we do about what will happen in the future. This is a fun series and each mystery just adds a little something extra to the story, I love the whodunnit aspect, and its done well and in a manner that I can’t see it until the last moment, and I am usually the worst at saying in the first few pages they did it without even knowing and it turns out true, so a massive plus from me.

Strange goings on
Strange Goings on continue to plague Poppy as she tries to get her head in the game. This book unravels more of poppy's origins but also raises more questions. Ghosts, seniors and biscuits cause lots of exciting action. Another fabulous read
