There is a very small white piece with buttons at the ends and you snap them when you wrap it around the baby. Really great! Can't get in the way of being a burp cloth and super easy to snap on the baby if you want to use it as a bib!

Q: Do these fasten as a bib? If so, with what? Are they adjustable size-wise? Would one fit my spitty 1 month old?

Yes they fasten as a bib with a snap. They are not adjustable. They would probably be too big for a one month old. But great for two months and older.

Q: Are these the thick quilted ones? Or the thinner version?

Thick quilted. The soft ones will be silk.
