Practical application, MANY intervention examples
I purchased this book as a music therapy student and continue to use it as a Board Certified Music Therapist (for myself and for my students' reference). I like it so much I've given it as a gift. The book is NOT difficult to read. It provides a brief introduction / review of neurophysiology and neurorehabilitation with a focus on describing interventions. This is not an "official" NMT text nor is it intended to be. However, the interventions can often be categorized under a particular NMT intervention, for example, TIMP. RAS and MIT are introduced. I very much like that each intervention includes a description of the functional transfer goal, e.g. gripping/playing a cabasa to simulate the grip required for opening jars and doorknobs (And I brought a small cabasa with the diameter of a doorknob for that purpose!) or gripping/using mallets to promote gripping a hair brush, tooth brush, or ladle (or hold a utensil in the manner of a child). This examples are about motor rehabilitation but the book covers other domains as well. Personally, this book prompted new thought processes regarding how music-based interventions can be used to achieve clinical goals in all domains but especially when it comes to ADLs.

An Invaluable Resource
I am a Board-Certified Music Therapist and quickly made this book my go to resource while working with the Traumatic Brain Injury population! I currently make use of the book to demonstrate goal and objective writing techniques to my undergrad students and still reference it regularly for my own practice! BUY IT!

Great Book
I am a Psychology student, studying sound & music therapy. My husband has a traumatic brain injury, and I found this book very informative. I was looking for a book with music suggests and exercises and this book was it. Another book I suggest that has music suggestions and is interesting is Tao of Music.

ottimo testo
manuale ricco di spunti pratici e rimandi teorici. in italia ancora non esiste nulla su questo argomento che invece rende la musicoterapia una disciplina scientifica e con una chiara applicazione clinica
