AkebonoACT436 Proact Ultra Premium Ceramic Disc Brake Pad kit, GREY

Replaced Hawk pads which I had used several times before which were decent pads but produced copious amounts of brake dust and did not wear well. With these Akebono pads my wheels stay remarkably clean and I actually find the braking performance significantly better after a modest bed in procedure. They are quiet too.

Have only had these on about a week, but the stopping power excels anything I've ever experienced. Lives up to the Akebono hype I've read. Only time will tell whether these pads produce the limited brake dust they claim is produced. They're more expensive than the crap you get at AutoZone or elsewhere on Amazon, but as with anything in life, you most always get what you pay for. Would recommend.

Upon installation, observed improved braking quality. So far brake dust not noticeable. Would be great if came with replacement brake caliper hardware.

The quality of these pads surpasses OEM. I'm not exaggerating. Got ACT436 pads for a 2000 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner V6, and even got them with new Brembo rotors (not slotted or drilled). The brake pedal feel and the power of my brakes improved drastically, not to mention extremely smooth and quiet. The pads did take a very long time to burn in. They smelled horrible for the first 500 miles, and even smoked during burn in on the first drive. This is totally normal. A few thousand miles in and all I can say is this is the best performance for the money.

Used these brakes in the past and am on my second set of them. Perfect fit for 04 6 lug Tacoma. First set of them had 3 years/40k miles on them and still had some life left when I changed them.

The brake pads are excellent, works like charm. No brake dust since it was installed and no squeaks. It's way cheaper to buy it from this website than to buy it from the big box stores.

Have had these for almost a year now and they are some very good quality brakes. They make my truck stop fast and they give off very minimal brake dust. Will be getting another set once mine are done.

Bought these along with Bosch 50011222 QuietCast Premium rotors. One out of each pair of these pads has wear indicators on a little ear that sticks out towards the center of rotation of the wheel (pictured). For me, these were hitting the rotor's drum and couldn't be fully installed. The other pad in each pair also had a wear indicator but in a different location on the side that didn't interfere with anything. I didn't think to flip the pads to the other sides of the rotor, but I also noticed that my previous pads didn't have this ear. I simply cut mine off and installed without any other issue. I notice also the box didn't contain any information regarding how to orient the pads relative to the direction of rotation of the tire. 4 stars all around because I don't notice any particular improvement of braking ability and they were not cheap and for the reasons explained above.
