This is the book you need when you suddenly have trouble in the supermarket parking lot. Most of the time the information in the book will tell you what common sense says about emergency supplies and procedures. Example the fuse box is useless if you have no replacement fuses. Amazon sells a box of assorted fuses about the size of an opera clutch purse. 3 amp to 30 amp and a test tool as well. Fuses over time become corroded and useless. When it finally rained in LA how many wiper motor fuses failed to make the connection? And where in the car were they hiding? And which one was associated with your wipers?Competitors sometimes have no vacuum or electric drawings but tell you how to tear down and rebuild an engine.How many times do you need to know the internals of the engine compared to how many electric, vacuum, and even fuse and relay locations. Ideally you need the factory manuals to be read so you understand what is in your car. You can buy them using the information in the back of the manual that came with the vehicle. Read them and learn how your vehicle works. My 924 Porsche manual set is 14 inches wide. This is an extreme example. Normally for a medium end car or van the set is 5 inches thick and includes a long skinny book on electric and vacuum as well as each and every electric connector plus pictures of where it lives. This long skinny one is the most valuable of the set and gets the most use.The very least you should always have on hand with your vehicle is the electric etc previously mentioned information.Haynes manuals are for when you are stuck somewhere with garage people who know less about your car than you do. This is not a joke; this is reality. You cannot beat this book for the money. It is the best of the best for what it is. Reading it will also save you a lot of time when you suddenly need to know something. It is the best information you will find in such small space.Never leave home without it. If it is damaged to where it is super ugly you have spent little and learned a lot and it will still be useful in your emergency.
