Coma

Moving
Received and read in the same day. A moving record of an unexpected medical emergency. The artwork was great and the words made me think how I would react to a similar event. I remember Zara from when we were teenagers, so to read of this struggle does hit home.

Remarkable and uplifting
A gripping account of an epic life-changing experience. Zara's fantastic artwork detailing her coma hallucinations contrast dramatically with reassuring scenes from family life while the community rally round her. Such a clever idea to have two points of view. A truly inspiring and aesthetically pleasing book.

COMA
As an ex-nurse, it was interesting to see things from a Patients perspective.

A remarkable and moving graphic memoir.
Brighton artist, Zara Slattery contracted a 'flesh-eating' bacterial infection which resulted in the loss of one of her legs. While in a 15-day drug-induced coma she suffered horrific hallucinations. Her nightmare experiences are stunningly illustrated in this remarkable graphic memoir combined with her husband's diary and memories of ICU nurses.Zara Slattery's brilliant and moving 'Coma' deserves to be widely read.

Gripping
Let yourself be taken on an epic journey! I loved this book, especially knowing that now Zara is well and safe. It would've been all too terrifying otherwise!
