The King of Fighters XII - Xbox 360

I think people are being too harsh to this game to start off. Yes King of fighters game have upwards to 60 characters usually while this one only has 20 or less, who cares?, that doesnt stop it from being good. It has the staple characters and those who complain about not having Mai... Really? she isnt even all that great of a character.Seriously though, this game has a great feel, great control, and plays well....UNTIL you hit online. Even with the updates to fix the lag issues, which it didnt do, it still plays horribly. Sometimes yo will get fast matches but they are mostly slow mo fights which makes the match more readable and easy to counter, block moves which you probably wouldnt have time to accomplish in regular play.This Has No story which is weak but im sure most all fans of the series understand that this was a dream match type game where its just pick up and play.The new art style is nice but different from the scrawny more realistic bodies of the earlier games. Seems bigger is better. It def makes for interesting looks so I dont tend to hate on it much. I actually like it.By all means this wasnt worth the 60$ price they were asking for but by now you can pick it up for what it should have been worth. Game isnt complete: no story, horrible online, no other play modes, basically a skin and bones title which was horrible for them to do cause it threw off many newcomers which means they probably wont care about the new ones. That means SNKplaymore will still be an underdog and will never be as big as street fighter and could risk disappearing as a franchise.Horrible game for 60$ in terms of content.Great game for the used prices here on amazon or 30$ new. I still think the asking price new that amazon has is too much. You could pick up Super Street Fighter 4 for 20$ less.

If your a KOF fan,that want someting new,wait for the price to go down,not worth more than $10.00all KOF games from the past are better then this game,ALL.This is why.Cons.-CHERECTERS:only a few of the original,and cool cherecters are in this game,and forget about the original 3 person groups.Let me put it this way its like the worl cup,but with,no Germany,Netherlands Portugal,Italy,and no spain.Ters simply to many cool figthers missing.-CLIMAX:No boss at the end,no story line to follow,so it dose not matter what team you finish the game. because the ending will be the same.-lOCATIONS:The first location is big stadium,its cool but thats it,thers only about 5 diffrent locations.Pros. -Leona(cherecter)looks cool and sexy,like never -Well it is a KOF 2D game,and in HD1080p,It looks goodOverall its good to play with friends,that like KOF,but games like this make all,the KOF fans,look bad in front of the steet fighters,fans.KOF 97,98,99. are the best 2D figthing games I have played.I only gave one star because of the price I paid.

KoF XII is a solid fighting game. Sure it's not as simple as the more recent KoF titles but this game is a restart to the roots of KoF. I played this game and I was taken back to my times at the arcade playing KoF 98 and I loved it. Now what I was sad about was what most people are the lack of content. This game in general is just one of the dream matches in the series where no story takes place, sad thing unlike other dream matches they didn't add more fighters to play with and normal favs had gone missing. So as much as I love playing I missed one of the great things KoF offered tons of fighters and a crazy story with an evil boss that get me so upset that I'll throw my controller at the wall.

With The king of Fighters series, you keep the classic 2D fighter alive. I play in 1080p and I cannot be more pleased with the animation and shading of the characters. The animation is fluid and rivals, if not bests, Street Fighter III Third Strike, which set the bar pretty high for 2D animation. The Marvel Vs. Series actually shows it's age compared to this game. I personally have preferred the KOF style to the Street Fighter combo heavy systems, but I enjoy both. This is the culmination of all of the refinements of the previous KOF titles. Gameplay is fluid and the combo system is logical and makes for fun matches. The characters are well balanced and no one character dominates the others. Over all, I cannot recommend this title enough over the emulated fighters on the Live Marketplace. Those are good for their time, but this is the current state of the art for 2D fighters. Street Fighter IV is good, but it harkens back to the Street Fighter II style of gameplay. This means, no real long combos and the characters get knocked back after heavy hits and the game play is slower than the Turbo or Street Fighter III system. Both are good, but for current game play system packaged in an animation system that is on the top of the heap, I cannot recommend this game enough.
