Pack of Lies: Shadow Guild (Wolf Queen, Book 3)

Pack of Lies is the third book of the Shadow Guild: Wolf Queen series. If you have not read books one and two, you could start with the first book “Darkest Moon” so you won’t feel lost. If you want a richer reading experience with details on Eve’s friends, you will want to start with “Once Bitten” the very first book in the Shadow Guild: The Rebel series. Like all of the authors previous works, this one is fast paced and action packed. There really is never a dull moment. Eve and Lachlan spend their time in this book racing against a clock to find answers to their questions and solutions to their problems while their fated mate status remains a slow burn to tease those of us who are romance fans. Some answers are found but more questions remain and a solution always feels just out of reach. It is definitely a nail biter and there is a cliffy, it is a series after all. Don’t fret. The final book will be released in May, far off enough to leave you aching but soon enough to keep the story fresh in your mind. As always, Hall’s world building is simply magical. Her historical references, the geography, the mythology. It is all wonderful.

Another chapter in Eve and Lachlan's story. They're falling hard for each other in spite of their attempts to remain apart. More potions to keep Lachlan from succumbing to the Dark Moon curse as he tries to help Eve to find out what is going on with her. She's in a lot of pain and she's fading because she's literally coming apart inside. She needs to shift but can't. In the meantime, the Master is stealing moon stones and has a plan to capture Eve. I can't say more without giving away spoilers, so that's the extent of my summary.I really loved this story. I found it to be exciting and I love the characters. While the appearances of other characters is most welcome, I wish they had more page time so they had more depth. Beyond that, it's great. I love Eve's reveal.

I think I’m giving up on this series. The storyline is nearly identical to a series of the writers with characters named Carrow and Gray. Literally almost storyline for storyline. And the main woman character is so irritating… Always saying “I’m fine”. And the main male character saying “OK” and walking away. It’s just utterly repetitive and I had to stop reading it. And I don’t think I’ll finish the series. So disappointed.

Once again we are trying to save Eve & Lachlan. This one had me cringing inside at the descriptions of what Eve was going through. Only thing I have even close to her pain is Endometriosis and that pain will keep you in bed with a hot pad. That's with medication for it! So I can only imagine how bad it must be. I did get mad at Eve for even trying to use her magic when she knew how bad off she was. She was making herself worse! Hopefully next book we can get these two together finally?

Eve and Lachlan continue on their quest to keep him from succumbing to the curse and to keep her safe from the master... as usual the story is fast paced but so good even the cliffhanger ending can be forgiven when taking the May release date of the final book in Eve's series. I definitely loved the book and can't wait to read more!

SPOILERSOk so we’ve discovered what Eve is finally.... a freaking DIRE WOLF! That’s badass. Her and Lachlan are getting closer and I need more. There’s still way too many questions that need answers so hopefully the next book will fill them in. I’m still pretty sure Eve has the power to combat the Dark Moon Curse and save those afflicted somehow I just don’t know how yet.

I couldn’t put it down, and I need the next book. I am enthralled in this story and am crazy about the characters. I cant wait to see what happens between Eve and Lachlan and how they solve this “cant fall for my true mate” problem. I cant wait for next month when Rising Moon comes out.

Okay, so I did not see that coming I never would have guessed what Eve was! I think I fell even more in love with this band of misfits. Garreth fighting the curse out of love ugh my heart and Lachlan I love him so much! I can't wait to see what happens next.
