Micro Coat Flat, 1 oz MSIMI3

I have been using enamel paints for years but the toxicity and smell when airbrushing has made me think twice about my personal health and well being. I have recently switched all of my paints to less harmful acrylic namely Tamiya paint. Microcote replaces the more common dullcote that I have used in the past. What's great about this product is that it has no odor, washes up with water, and delivers a smooth and flat finish to my models. It dries much faster than the enamel, and it does a great job covering decals. I also like the idea that I can also use it with a paintbrush for smaller model pieces. I recently painted a huge 1:350 starship model with it and only used 3/4 of a bottle. I would have gone through two cans of dullcote and Microcote costs half as much. It really is that good. I recommend not hand painting large areas though.

It works great. You will have to get the air pressure just right to get it to get truly flat though. I have used this and their gloss coats exclusively with zero issues. I would recommend this product. Like any product like this, testing and practice to get the desired results you want is strongly encouraged.

What can I say, product dries flat and is PHENOMENAL! I use it more than I would admit under oath, but yeah, its good. Damn good.
