I have multiple allergies and the water in my town is gross and smells of chemicals. I don't drink it and wouldn't be able to shower or wash clothes with it if I didn't have it filtered. These filters work great in less then 10 days the filter looks brown, see above photos new and 10 days later, shows you how bad the water is. When the water pressure decreases a lot that's when I change the filter so time all depends on how bad your water is. Major point for me is they are made in the US. I try not to buy anything made in China.
