The M 100 was provided by vendor as a 'for review' item so... there. So here you have it, my fair and unbiased evaluation.For the M 100, size, shape and style say 'shelf speaker' and it's a pretty one as that. But, while looks are important, the output is what counts when it comes to speakers and you are clearly getting your money worth off this one. It's honest-to-goodness, excellent quality sound. No, it won't be fair to compare with speakers in the 500 dollar-plus price range because, you know, you usually get what you pay for. In this case, I would say you get that and maybe a little more.SOUND (4) - better than decentThese are good times for audiophiles because there are many great one-box speakers and you can get a good listen at an affordable price. The M 100 is one of the better ones in the sub-500 dollars range and it's better than decent for a shelf speaker. I will say that it 'fills the room' if the room is not too big and that's the idea. This speaker is ideal for a smaller room such as a study or perhaps an office. There is very little distortion and the balance is good.DESIGN AND STYLE (5)Well... if you like them round and with a hole in the middle :). Seriously, the speaker does look 'high end', better in real life than a photo would suggest, especially when properly placed. The only highlight is the hole in the middle, surrounded by a circle of light which intuitively indicates the volume level during normal playback. Everything else, including the controls is in the pack which looks good but may be an issue (see next paragraph).ERGONOMICS (3)If there is one thing I am not too happy about in this speaker is the controls placed all in the back. While not 'large', the M 100 is massive enough to make accessing the controls on the back of the round funnel cake body a little chore. Depending on where the speaker is placed, you may have to go by touch only in order to locate the power button or turn the whole body around and that's not too convenient. On the positive side, the way volume control is handled through touch is very nice but I'd still prefer a little remote as an option.CONNECTIVITY (4)The M 100 is happiest when paired via Bluetooth. It pops up immediately when scanning for devices to pair with a phone or a computer and pairs quickly. Pairing it with a new device is equally easy. Alternatively, you can physically connect it through an audio cable (supplied) but that's not what this speaker is about. Given that there is accompanying app on the phone, not including a USB port or microSD slot makes sense. I generally distrust phone apps because they usually demand access to 'everything' on my phone so the lack of other interface options is no such a big deal.MORE TECHNICAL DETAILS (5)You can charge the speaker and it will play for many hours off its internal battery or, if you leave the charging cable in, it will be permanently connected and that would be the preferred setup in my view because this speaker is definitely not meant to be 'mobile'. There's not much else to say, really because the M 100 was made simple and to the point.PRESENTATION (5)If you are thinking of a gift, this one comes in a high-end-looking box and everything inside says 'quality' so it would be a nice gift and, unless they look it up at Amazon, most recipients would assume it's worth significantly more than you payed for it.RATING (4) means "I like it"It comes close to a 5 but the difficulty to access the buttons in the back was annoying enough to make the difference between "I love it" and "I like it". Perhaps a future version would come with a remote control to make it a near-perfect little speaker.

given the price of the Bluetooth speaker it is really good and the sound is clear. there isn't anything too special other than that another Bluetooth speaker of this quality would probably cost you more. I have taken it to several different places and it is loud enough for a large group to enjoy the music. It is more for the outdoor type but it is not waterproof so be carful when around pools and children. Thanks and please like my reveiw
