Works great
Why buy new when you can reuse ! It works perfectly fine and the sound is great. Alexa responds well and it was so easy to set up. I just don’t like all the different memberships.

I got this a few days ago, here’s my review:Voice recognition:The technology used to recognize your voice is very accurate, but sometimes it happens that I’m in the phone watching videos and someone says Alexa, the echo dot responds to the command even though it was a video. Nothing important just a bit annoying.Aesthetics (I’m 23yo):This thing looks good anywhere in my house, I like the design and the fact that is a little blue ball in my desk. I’m not gay.How useful is this product?I’ve never went to do grocery and get everything I wanted to get, it was always a double trip to the supermarket… until I got the Alexa app on my phone, this thing can make shopping list so you just tell Alexa what you need to get and then, when you’re in the place you have a check list with all the products AND it gives you the option to have some discounts on selected products within the app?!?!?!?! That’s crazy, no more printed coupons yay. That is my main reason to find this product useful. Yes my life is very sad.Connectivity:Another thing about this product being useful is the fact that you can just add more and more devices into the Alexa’s ecosystem, right now I have two smart lightbulbs in my room, but you can just add smart plugs, smart light switches, smart lamps, smart security cameras, smart smart smart so much smart that I actually think that I’m dumb, plus you can use the echo dot as a Bluetooth speaker, it connects to you nearby devices and I haven’t explore the potential for that but I’m sure that you can do something if Alexa is connected to your laptop I guess. Not sure about that.Overall:This is a good product that not only provides entertainment but also provides value with the functionality that it has. You can listen to music, or play white noise if you’re having troubles to sleep, tell Alexa to tell a joke or to remind you of that meeting that you have on a Saturday morning (I hate my job).Should you buy it?Yes, yes you should.

Not entirely as good as I had anticipated
I've been using my Echo for a few months now, and I was really excited about it because I used to have an Amazon Echo 2nd gen that I hadn't used for maybe around 6 years now until just recently. I thought that this new one would have been like waaay better than that one, but it's somehow slightly worse? The audio quality is around the same, the microphone is okay-ish but if I put the echo on that one outlet mount they have, I practically have to yell at it and hope it picks up my voice the first time. My 2nd gen also seems to wake and respond twice as fast, but maybe there's just something wrong with the Echo I got. On the bright side, at least it's MUCH BETTER than the Echo Show 5 I recently bought...

It works great, no issues at all, the only difference is that you don't get the original colored box, but the product is the same, the quality is the same, only a smaller price.

Best thing since sliced bread....
It's my first and I'm one of those that thinks she's listening at all times type. A friend who was alone with cancer got one for the life alert aspect and being able to call with her voice from anywhere in her house. I could use that too so here I am letting her listen to me. Lol. But no it's been a really great purchase. I use it for music, my son loves song pop and hubby loves that you can ask the time and temperature of anywhere. It was super easy to set up, pretty much just plug it in, it's easy. I will be getting a second one for my craft room.
