So much more than a collection of great photos!
I had the pleasure, along with many other followers on FB, to watch The Churches of Paris come together over the course of a couple of years. To see it in its final form is a blessing beyond measure. The photos are extraordinary, but it is the extensive commentary that sets this book apart. Each chapter gives us not only the history, but the effects of conflict and the "must see" areas of each church. You can read it like a book or just take in the sumptuous photos. We're returning to Paris in 2023 and this book will be our guide. My highest recommendation!

"The Churches of Paris" is a well-researched book with stunning photography.
You will want to visit every church in Paris after reading Peggy Shannon's well-researched book on the subject! Her photography is gorgeous and the book provides interesting historical details about these architectural beauties. Peggy will introduce you to lesser-known churches in Paris which are just as stunning and spiritual as their better-known counterparts. Peggy's book inspired us to visit ten churches in Paris recently. It was incredibly helpful to have background information on each church as well as interior photographs of significant art & sculpture before our visits. I highly recommend this book for those interested in learning more about the churches of Paris!

Stunning photos, luscious prose
This is a gorgeous book! Whether as coffee table decor or to assist in planning a trip, this is a winner! The book is organized by arrondissemonts, so is easy to use as a planning tool or to reference a place you’ve visited. The author includes historical context and stories behind each church and items in it. The photos are stunning. If you’ve been there, it’s easy to relive the experience. If you haven’t been there, you’ll be wanting to book an excursion soon! Or just use it to vicariously experience the thrill of Paris churches. Great as a gift!

Must have - Family Heirloom
I love this book! It is part of my family heirloom now and will be pass down to my daughter someday. I was lucky to visit several churches around Paris and the last time I saw Notre-Dame De Paris in 2017 before the fire. Not only the book have stunning pictures but all the history and amazing detail on each of the church is fascinated. Thank you Peggy for all your hard works and I can't to see what's next from you and your travel.

Inspiring for adults and children
I’ve been following Peggy with Churches of Paris on social media for sometime. I’m delighted to have her book in print. My four year old daughter and I love looking at the photos. She loves Ludwig Bemelmans’ Madeline and all of his drawings of Paris. It’s fun to show her what churches in Paris really look like. A great investment for preschooler and adult wonder! Thank you Peggy!

Breathtaking Photos - Plus Fascinating and Practical Info for Visitors!
First of all, the photography in this book is beyond stunning. Even if you never plan to visit any of these incredible churches, the photos alone are well worth the cost of the book. The general information provided is extremely interesting and accessible. But if you DO plan to make a visit to any of the churches, then this book is a Must-Have purchase when planning your visit. There are practical insights and tips to get the most from your time. Great for both arm-chair travelers AND those lucky enough to head to Paris. I already bought a second copy as a Christmas gift!

Simply Stunning
A feast for the eyes and soul, with a wealth of historical, ecclesial and architectural details in the accompanying text. The photography is sumptuous and gorgeous; the hues so intense they practically jump from the page. There simply is not another book like this — an instant classic and the definitive volume for this subject. No library that has even a passing interest in sacred architecture is complete without it.

A breathe of fresh Parisian air ….
Having been a follower of the author’s FB page for quite some time, it’s certainly most exciting to see this labor love finally coming to fruition. This monumental book features 36 beautiful churches throughout Paris’s 18 arrondissements or districts. Each chapter features stunning photographs of the church, an intensively researched historical background and a section highlighting all the must-see parts of the church. Throughly enjoyed reading the book, and would heartily recommend to all readers and francophiles out there this “breathe of Parisian fresh air”
