It seems to clean old dirt and gunk, as well as grease and oil. I think it works well, but nothing that is miraculous.

Q: Can this grease be used on spinning reel drag plates?

It can be used, but a general reel oil/grease can be too light to be of much use on a 'wet' drag system. The drag grease has a higher viscosity and other additives such as microscopic particles like teflon or silicates.
