Joist Hanger Tool

This hanger buddy is great. It arrived on time to lay the floor joists in my home. Makes working faster and easier. Job was done quickly.

Concept is nice to have something to hold joist specially working above your head. Could not figure out, walk the nut and bolt or four when it has a quick pen to adjust the levels. Was using it on pressure, treated lumber deck project, and because there’s no consistency in lumber it did not line up with the tops of the rim or ledger. Obviously that’s not a result of the holder but lumber

highly recommended. Just wish I bought two so a friind could work one side while I worked the other side of joist. no big deal just convenience. worked perfect;y for hanging floor joists

Easy to use time saver...as advertised. Well built. Not adjustable for minor variations in wood dimensions.

hangers do not fit it properly the sides are bowed when you get a hanger in it. its a real piece of junk far as i am concerned if you use some other type of hangers other than Simpson it may be ok. The protrusions on the side of the Simpson hangers make it some of the worst money i ever spent

First of all, I am not a pro, just a family handyman. I am re-doing my deck, and I bought this to help me get the joists dead even with the ledgers and cross pieces. I thought this would speed up the process. I have only used this on about 10 joists so far.I slid the joist hanger into the Hanger Buddy, resting on the height adjustment pin. All of the 2-by lumber were new from a Big Box store. The lumber wound up being 1/8 inch too high. In every case, I had to re-position the joist hanger to bring the joist flush. Fortunately, I am using construction-grade screws from not nails, so it was not too difficult.I wasn't too surprised, since we know dimensional lumber can vary in size. Still, using the height adjustment pin, none were flush on the top, which would have made my PVC deck boards uneven.Interestingly, today I decided to try it again, and found that the height adjustment pin had fallen out somewhere in my tool box. Couldn't find it. I stuck the joist hanger in there anyway, and it held with no problem due to the spring action of the hanger. I swagged the position by splitting the holes in the side where the height adjustment pin should go. Dead on. My joists were flush on top. I think the product would be better if had a fine adjustment capability. Or, maybe no pin, just an index so that when you get a batch of lumber that is running a certain thickness, you can make fine adjustments.So, the product is just fair in my very limited experience

What's good won't hurt you and this is good saves time and is money, gets me too break time sooner.

Best decking tool!! Saves a tremendous amount of time and is so simple to use.
