My favorite flashlight!
My favorite flashlight! It is perfect for big jobs and little jobs. You can buy filters that make it glow in all kinds of colors for all kinds of different work. I went out kreepy clown hunting in the woods the other night and used this flashlight with a filter to keep my night vision intact. If I found one, I would easily be able to pop off the filter and blind the clown with a speed button maneuver into strobe mode. I've dropped this little light a few times and was surprised to find that it only scratched a little bit. My phone would have completed been destroyed with a broken screen and all kinds of scrapes and dents. This flashlight feels like you are carrying something of quality and completely destroys the comfort you might feel from having a cheap gas station led light that feels like you are carrying a glowing piece of aluminum tube. I bought this special set because it came with the holster doodad, but the batteries were a nice added touch. I'll probably switch to lithium after these die off because it gets really cold here in the winter and alkaline just don't cut it. The holster is great and keeps this flashlight nice and tidy in my backpack and I have never had it accidently turn on in my bag. This is an all around great product and I happily give it 5 stars!

New Version Still Great
I bought this flashlight for my father for Christmas, but since I have the previous version I had to try it out before I gave it to him. Not much is different from the previous version except the top of the flashlight has a silver ring now instead of the notched top of my model. They also reworked the switch near the top that controls the light intensity so that it's more of a button rather than the rectangular rubberized switch on mine. This newer version is slightly brighter than mine which is great since it uses the same AA batteries. I think I like the looks of the notched top on my version better, makes it looks more tactical, but I'm sure this one is fine (maybe better) for the purpose of being a flashlight. Fenix makes great flashlights and this one is no different.

JUNK 2 died in less than 2 weeks
I owned 2 of the original fenix ld 22 flash lights for about 3 years before i lost both of them. I needed to replace it so I i saw the updated 2015 version and thought it was a given that i should by it. first off it doesnt have the slot to put the clip on the front of the light which is where i had it on my original flashlights. second both flash lights were dead in less than two weeks. first flash light while using it died and now only a tiny amount of light comes out of the led no matter what batteries and what mode it is in. the second flash light after a small drop from my pocket when i brushed against somthing cracked the lens. it still worked, so i continued to use it and then with in two days the same thing happened where the led just goes out. and only emits a fraction of a lumen in any and all modes with new batteries. these are junk. i dropped my original ld 22 flashlights from ten feet regularly, and no problem for years, i even droped it into a fryer at 350 degrees for about 10mins until i could drain it and get it out, it still worked while it was in there even at that temperature. i used it for another 8 months before i lost it. if you want a working flash light i cannot say this is your best bet. I am going to try to contact the manufacturer about this, but the next gen seems like chinese junk compared to the original 2 that i had.

For up close critical eye work this is the flashlight.
I'm a Quality inspector in the automotive industry. This is the flashlight I use for dimensional measurements of many different types of car and truck parts. For in close critical eye work I highly recommend this flashlight. The design fits very comfortable in your hand for long time use.I like the levels of brightness helps cover a huge range of lightning requirements. Just like the other Fenix modeIs I use I like the stainless steel lens rim, hardened anodized body, drop and water proof certification's.

It's ok
Here goes:This light has a lot of functions, maybe to many.It is not as bright as some $10 lights I have around my home and for $68.00 I was hoping to have a flashlight that would blow my mind.I am a plumber and I use a flashlight for about 3-4 hours a day ( lots of batteries-luckily company pays for them).I feel like I want to leave this light at home and beat up my $10 flashlights all day long. It's a nice looking light and I have had a Fenix light before and was very impressed with that one. This one looks like it will hold up to daily abuse very well. Time will tell.Just my two cents

My favorite flashlight...
This is easily my favorite flashlight that I've ever had. Easy to operate, water-resistant, multiple output modes, reasonably priced, and runs on widely available AA batteries. Only possible improvements would be (1) glow-in-the-dark button or bezel to make it easier to locate the flashlight in darkness, and (2) a true moonlight mode, as even the lowest brightness setting is sometimes brighter than needed.

Three Stars
Bought two of these and they are able to hold the brightness over time. It is also quite easy on your AA batteries. Never buy the China cheap flashlights, I have at least 30 of them, all became very dim after a year or so. You get what you pay for, buy the best, it will probably work lifetime, just don't loose it or let anyone borrow it.
