Bullseye Steel Gong Shooting Targets -

The perfect target?
I've been using this target heavily since purchased nearly a year ago. I've thrown everything at it from several thousand rounds of 9mm and .40 to over a thousand rounds of 5.56 and a few hundred rounds of .30-06. The target holds up against it all. When shot with the 5.56 or .30-06 at closer ranges there will be tiny pits maybe a quarter of a millimeter deep and a milimeter in diameter, but being 3/8 in thick you would literally have to hit the EXACT same spot at close range thousands of times to make it through. And if you are shooting from the recommended distances, there is no damage to the steel at all. If you paint your target after each shooting session, you can't see any damage at all. The only negative I found with this target is that when hitting the center gong the other day with my .30-06, one of the two carriage bolts holding the gong to the silhouette managed to shear in half. I contacted the company to let them know and in less than 24 hours they told me a complete new bolt assembly would be on its way to me shortly. They explained that they use grade 5 bolts because of their durability and that grade 8 are stronger, but may shatter if impacted by a bullet. They told me they wish someone would make AR500 bolts, however they are too hard to form and would be impractical. My final thoughts are that this target easily deserves 5 stars even with a bolt shearing (mind you this target was stuck by approximately 5,000 bullets before that happened). The company also deserves 5 stars for their exceptional response time, quality product, and valuing their customer above all else.

Exactly as ordered and no signs of wear after a full day of shooting.
I set these up on my property to have a range for me to practice on and let the kids plink without having to worry about changing paper targets. I love the price for a set of six, each a different size. This allows for the shooter to increase their difficulty level without having to change targets - just shoot the progressively smaller ones. Five people shot at these targets for about 4 hours and, other than the paint getting knocked off, they are no worse for wear. (9mm and .357 Sig.) At this rate, they'll last for years before I have to plunk down $$$ for new ones. I'll probably get another one in silhouette. It is very hard to show in the photos, but if you run your hand across the impact points, the steel is still smooth with no sign (other than the paint as mentioned) that it had been struck. I will update after the next session when we'll be breaking out the .308.

Perfect, I use it for a pellet rifle
This is excellent for my .177 and .22 pellet rifle. The marks you see are just lead from the pellet, the steel is intact. They make noice when you hit them even with a pellet, and is loud enough to be heard from 150meters (if there are any no other loud noises). If you have a pellet rifle and want to shoot at something from a distance or from close this is perfect. THE PELLETS GETS DESTROYED WHEN IT HITS, IT WILL NOT "BOUNCE" A LOT, MINES DONT BOUNCE OF THE TARGET AT ALL.

Excellent Quality Target
I was looking for a target for my new AR-15 and found AR500 Steel Targets on Amazon. I chose the 4" with the bulls eye to begin. It's a very heavy duty, high quality steel target. It came fully assembled ready to roll. The only clarification I would have is the center bullseye is not painted as in the picture. It's clearly stated in the description the target is unpainted but I didn't realize that meant the center would not be the orange bullseye as in the picture. Mark the owner graciously offered to send the magnetic stencil free of charge but I had already located it and ordered it to paint myself, so no big deal. I haven't had an opportunity to shoot at the target yet, but I'm confident it will be an excellent target just by the quality of the materials used and how it's put together (very heavy duty). Customer service has been amazing as well! I expect I will add additional AR500 targets in the future!

Don't be fooled! Item comes *UNPAINTED* - unlike shown on page
I spent a lot of time searching for the best deal on a nice ar500 piece of range metal - then I saw all these pictures of a beautifully (and correctly) coated and colored torso metal. It was a little pricy, but looked so nice and large and awesome that I decided to buy it... Well folks what I got (and you will too if you make the same mistake in trusting the pics they used to display thr product they are actually selling...) was a shiny piece of poorly fabricated and unfinished (unpainted) CNC machined metal that I would not want, do not want and did not order. So I contacted customer service made them aware of the bait and switch they were attempting to pull and decided to order a nicer standing tree system. If you ok with paying finsihed prices for unfinished metal - so be it and enjoy the glare on it during target practice lol - if not, find a nicer and cheaper option that may come as it is shown. Happy plunking!

Just ordered 2 more 6" for a shooting party next Saturday
Great Buy! I highly recommend these targets, they are exactly as advertised, maybe even a bit understated. 100's of 9mm 100's of .22 and not even a scratch. Just hang them, apply a coat of paint, and start shooting! I like to use a thicker epoxy spray paint so it chips off with a hit for easy sighting. The fun will last as long as the ammo does, in fact I just ordered 2 more to have more options to shoot.

Durable target, the red bulls eye sticker is not included
I used this shooting a 308 and it did not pit or dent, shot at 100 yards out. the middle bulls eye opens as it should and it comes with the chains and bolts. Only thing that is different is the bulls eye in the picture shows red with the black lines but that is not included. I gave it five stars because the product is durable and holds up to a good blast with 165 grain hollow point 308.

Worth every penny
These plates are awesome!! Lots of fun on my buddies farm. It is so much better shooting steel than paper targets! I got the 8 inch 1/4 thick gongs for shooting pistol. We shot it with 9mm 22lr 357 and 45 and they help up great. They will definitely last a long time. For anyone interested I set it up using some old angle iron I found at work. Drilled a hole in the top of each piece and hammered them into the ground about 3 feet apart. Got some chain, a few threaded chain connectors, 1/2 inch bolts and nuts and strung it up. Make sure you attatch the chain to the bolt protruding out the back of the plate so it hangs at a slightly downward angle. I’ll get some pictures next time I shoot and upload.
