After scouring the internet in hopes of finding any alternative to this paper, or at least something fairly comparable, I came up essentially empty…so I finally but the bullet and made the splurge.And I am so glad I did!I chose the Tomoe River notebook in 52gsm, white colored, dot ruled. (I wanted the A4 loose leaf, but it doesn’t seem to be available here on Amazon.)This paper worked synergistically with my newly purchased flex nib fountain pens and inks. Notably, J. Herbin’s ‘Emerald of Chivor’ ink and Fountain Pen Revolution’s ‘Galaxy Blue’ ink meshed really well with the thin, yet not too sheer or delicate, sheets.Tomoe River 52gsm is the cult favorite when it comes to using sheening inks - especially EOC. It seems fountain pens glide over it so smoothly and it brings out all the effects and colors of these modern-day fountain pen inks. Rumor has it — and I believe it — that you can’t see the red tones in Emerald of Chivor on any other paper. I tried it on every paper in my house, and none brought out the beauty quite like Tomoe River did. ((For those who want to go against the grain as I did, and try to find another paper…I’ve been told Life paper is a close 2nd, but still not the same.))I am certainly pleased with my purchase, and have had lots of fun just writing and doodling in my Tomoe River notebook. I will definitely purchase more in the future…although I hope someone starts stocking the loose leaf packs instead!If you’re on the fence about making your purchase, just do it! Don’t waste hours seeking out what really doesn’t exist, like I did. Just buy, write & enjoy. That simple! You can thank me later… ;)

This is THE paper to use for fountain pens. The inks behave well on this paper and show to their best effect. Sheening inks sheen better on this, shimmering inks shimmer better, and even 'normal' inks pop on this paper. If you enjoy writing with fountain pens and fountain pen inks, you have to try this paper. It may be a tad pricey, but it is worth every penny.

Being new to fountain pens & journaling, I have to say, this paper blew my mind. It's really nice to write on, and with a medium nib there was absolutely no bleed through. The notebook is sturdy, perfect size for my desired use, and the dots are noticeable without being overpowering. Definitely buying again.

The pages in this notebook are great, however they are super thin and all of my inks show through to the other side. If you just want to jot quick notes and thoughts down and treat this notebook as if it were single sided, this will do the trick.Look elsewhere if you plan to make full use of both sides of the page.

Perfect paper for my calligraphy.

As a volume writer with fountain pens stretching over a half century plus, this notebook didn't impress me much. I guess if I were trying to be artsy and twee and just jotting like 'journaling', a page at a time, it'd be all right. However, I have generated 100 legal-pad pages in the last week; the cost of that with one of these little things would be prohibitive and foolish. I use the Docket Gold legal pads in white, sold here, and they work great with all the several dozen fountain pens I have, are a great price and are a thick, opaque paper perfect for perforating and placing in loose leaf binders. I won't be back for one of these.

Pages are thin, but it does not bleed through to the back too much. You can definitely tell the paper is of high-quality. Fountain pen ink, especially shimmery inks, show very vividly and beautifully on this notebook! Highly recommend!

I was pleasantly surprised by this little, unassuming notebook. Definitely feels like, and acts like the original Tomoe River Paper.. I use it for creating an inventory of all my fountain pen inks; both bottle and samples. Has enough pages to to keep both a quick reference swatch section; as well as a full page dedicated to 1 ink for testing the properly I’ll definitely be recommending and repurchasing !

Esse papel é espetacular para quem escreve com caneta tinteiro. Infelizmente é bem caro aqui no Brasil como tudo que é importado.

トモエリバー大好きです。手帳も使っているのですが、書写のためにこちらを買いました。滑らかに書けます。もう少し大きいサイズがあるといいなと思い星をひとつ減らしました。

トモエリバー（ほぼ日）→MDノート→トモエリバーと久しぶりに薄い紙を欲して購入しました。薄いー！久しぶり！！と嬉しい気持ちのまま毎年自作手帳を作るので裏抜け確認し、ページをセットアップしていくと…ページ同士がくっついている所がありました。開きやすいが売りなのに。糊の量なんでしょうが、受け取った商品には合計8箇所も糊で引っ付いて開かない場所がありました。写真のペン先まで糊で引っ付いているので次のページがきれいに開かないという事です。1冊に8箇所は流石に多すぎませんかね？流石にこういう仕様だとは思わないんですが。紙は好きなんです。紙は。
