MV-90 Magnetic Dryer Vent Coupling

Purchased this to fit behind a dryer that cant be accessed from the side. Very satisfied, it is a very sturdy dryer attachment. The magnet is strong enough to ensure a good connection between the housing and hose.

For years we had a coiled mess of a dryer vent tube, from the dryer to the wall connection. Hooking it up after working on the dryer was a pain -- hang over the dryer and try to reach the connection to fit it on the back of the dryer. Sure, we could have used a longer hose, but that means worse air flow and would probably be crushed when the dryer was pushed back against the wall. It sucked.The MagVent looked like a good idea, and after watching a YouTuber demo the device, and since I had need to move the dryer to do some work on the wall, we finally figured it was time to do this right.Overall, the MagVent was easy to install... any DIYer can do it. But the best part was when I put the dryer back in place. KLUNK! A very satisfying sound of the magnets on the two parts snapping into place. Pull the dryer out, and it disconnects just as easily. This is freakin' cool, and the vent connection actually works (go figure).Already have a friend who saw ours and ran out and bought one for himself, and he's happy about it too.Now I'm not bothered with the idea of pulling out the dryer to do maintenance.

A plastic “dryerbox” was already installed in our house when we moved in more than 10 years ago. The box has an elliptical duct connection at the top and had been a particular headache for years. I had a workable piece of semi-rigid corrugated duct between the dryerbox connection and the dryer, but it was always a fight to get the dryer slid in place in the tight laundry room while not kinking the duct or causing it to slip a little. If I positioned it “just so”, I could tighten the clamps and didn’t get any hot air or humidity in the laundry room. However, a little wobbling of the dryer over time or someone moving the dryer just a little seemed to always jostle things loose enough that I had to squeeze back behind the dryer again.After one recent frustrating bout of fighting with the hookup, I started searching for a better solution. I found the MagVent and installed it in the dryerbox as shown in the pictures. I first pulled the plastic elliptical insert out of the top of the dryerbox and hand-crimped a shortened piece of adjustable duct on the insert. After using high heat tape on the joints to prevent air leaks, a sturdy band clamp was used to make sure the duct extension won’t slip off. Then, I snapped the insert back in place.The 90 degree portion of the MagVent (heavy) is mounted to the dryerbox body on a bracket held with screws and is very sturdy. I ended up using a piece of adjustable duct on the dryer side as well because the dryer is up on a pedestal cabinet. Connection was easy and tight when the magnets lined up. The final connection sticks out from the wall a bit this way, but it’s fine for my setup. The connection could be made more flush by shortening the piece of vertical duct if space is super tight.Overall, I’m happy with the product and I don’t have to worry about the vent coming loose anymore. Moving the dryer to clean is much easier now.

The Magvent MV-90 is the perfect solution to make it easier to access a dryer vent line for cleaning. It is a piece of cake to install and the magnets do the job of self aligning. Overall a fantastic product.

Redoing my laundry room so that my washer/dryer are now side by side instead of facing each other. Purchased this since I would lose the access to get behind the dryer. It's very heavy-duty.I docked a star because:1. The magnet being so strong, it would pull the short duct off the dryer exhaust port when I pulled the dryer away to test it out. I ended up wrapping a loop of Super 33 electrical tape around the exhaust so that the duct had some grip when I put the clamp on. That fixed the slipping issue.2. The wall bracket. It's designed to be used so that the vent is only installed perpendicular to the bracket and not at an angle. I needed mine at about a 45 degree angle from horizontal to get to my straight duct with an adjustable elbow so I had to attach a block to the wall stud rotated 45 degrees so that more than one screw secured the bracket to the block. I didn't want to rely on drywall anchors since the magnet is very strong and using a second elbow wouldn't allow me to push the dryer all the way back because of additional clearance needed. They should redesign the bracket so that the vent can rotate on it or have more holes for screws.Overall, it's a great idea/product. I would've given it 4 1/2 stars if there was an option for it.

This product is well thought out and was relatively easy to install using the written directions as well as installation video on the company web site. Has eliminated the need for the old-style snake like dryer hose that always seemed to kink. I believe this is a much safer connection to vent the dryer.

This is well built, easy to install and operate product. It was exactly what we needed for the space our dryer is located.

whoever invented this is a genius and I hope they got a raise at whatever company they were working for. This makes things so much easier. I don’t know why dryer vents always have to be so difficult to mess with. This was easy to install and I love the satisfying click when it connects. Highly recommend recommended!
