works great
I think I used to have even shorter version of this? Might still. But I wanted something I could maneuver a bit more, and thus, I got this. Works just as well as the shorter one.I have a secretary desk, in a small room, so I really don't have anywhere to put/can't fit any kind of fancy... brain is not remembering right atm what they're called-Boom... things? handles?Anyway. This-and the shorter one-are perfect for someone who has a very small space. Just be sure to have some kind of thicker cloth or something to put between the desk and the clamp, less chance of it leaving marks if its wood, for instance. It's very, very sturdy, I think. Your mic isn't going to fall over or anything, and it isn't going to bend over. Also, I use a snowball ICE and it works just fine with it/fits.

Great Quality Once Assembled; Shipping Could Use Some Help
When I first came across this product, I realized it filled a very important hole in my workflow. Whenever I travel, it is hard to find the ideal set up for my microphones and it seems that I have just found the product to solve this. Not only is it small and compact, making it easy to transport wherever I go, it’s also very sturdy and I would feel comfortable sitting up even my rather heavy condenser microphone on it. My one gripe with the overall quality of the product is that it is very hard to screw the bendable arm into the mounting clamp. As I did this, it sounded like the plastic was creaking and cracking, even though no visual imperfections appeared. I highly recommend being careful as you install this into the mount. While I would give this product five stars for the overall quality, when I first opened the Amazon envelope, the top of the product box was completely open. Fortunately all of the contents inside were still in their original packaging, this just makes me a little nervous for other items I might buy from this seller. Since the product works as advertised, I don’t feel the need for a refund or replacement, but thought I would share my experience nonetheless.

Not interchangeable with other components
The mic end is 3/8” and has an adapter. But for some reason the clamp end is a 10mm x 1.0 thread which not only is incompatible with other sound items but is also a very hard to find thread size in the US (at least at big box home improvement stores). I don’t understand why they didn’t just make both ends of the flex arm the same 3/8” thread allowing you to use it either way around. I needed this arm to connect to a different clamp and ended up using a die-cutter to rethread the end of it for 3/8” so I could have a usable piece, but now the clamp it came with is useless.

Strong and flexible
I spent a fair amount of time trying to research which microphone stand to get and i am glad i got this one. It supports my audio technica condenser mic very well. Before, i had a boom mic stand that had 3 legs on the floor and it was always prone to tipping over and I was always having to negotiate around it with my rolling chair and cables. This gooseneck mic clamps on to my desk and is waaaay more convenient. The metal seems high quality. I am looking forward to the convenience of this set up for recording. The 19 inches seems just right as far as length goes from a sitting position in a chair.

Not great for big microphone
Not great for big microphone. Im using an EV RE320 and its just a bit too heavy for it and not super sturdy with it. It would be GREAT with a smaller/lighter microphone.

Sturdy and takes up little desk space
Item feels sturdy. I'm using a fifine mic that's maybe a bit over a pound and find that it slowly stoops a bit from the mic weight so I've been readjusting every now and then. Perhaps it's because of the horizontal position of the mic when it gets screwed on and that I'll need to ensure it's more vertical. It's a bit difficult to bend towards the ends of the armIt's overall difficult to adjust the arm, not something you want to do every time when you sit down; however, I find it pretty convenient to push it to a side at the base so that it's not in my face when I'm not using it.It barely takes desk space so I'm happy with that.Overall it works as intended and can support the mic just fineEdit: updating review from 4 to 5 as the slightly drooping was fixed after beding the arm more vertical. ZealSound customer support experience has been really nice

An Adequate accessory, very limited movement, but ok.
Sturdy enough, but not ok with the flexibility and very limited movement. FOr me, i wanted a compact, stationary mic support, and it serves purpose. If mobility and flexibility is what you are looking for, better go for a boom arm.

Quite possibly the worst microphone arm on the market today.
This is the second one of these arms I've purchased. The first one was so bad it had to be returned the same day it was delivered. The components of this product are cheap, made in China, garbage, and I do not recommend buying this product. My advice, purchase separate components, and make sure the quality for each component is the best. Do not buy this product!!

Decent length, sturdy, but be warned, very stiff!
Be warned that this is very stiff to use, and not for somebody who is weak.A decent length, and is sturdy, but can be difficult to use.If you can handle the stiffness, then this is going to be a very good mic holder for you. If you need something that is easy to use and easy to move around, I would suggest one of those architect mic arms
