Fantastic heart trip
Bill Johnson's book Snow Blind shows how a person whose is dealt a tragedy, through no fault of his own, can rise up to a full and adventurous life through unbelievable determination, will power and a wonderful positive attitude! I have bought the book to give to friends and family, now I am back for another copy to keep on my book shelf for future references. It is absolutely inspirational and should be a recommendation for teachers and on teen reading lists as well as a must read for anyone especially those who think they can't make it through a challenging situation, physical set back or for whatever reason are having a personal "pitty party!" I have the pleasure of knowing Bill and the book portrays him exactly how he is. On any given day you can ask him, "How are you Bill?" and his reply will be "fantastic" or "couldn't be better."Read it and pass it on, we all need a lesson in living life to the fullest! Linda Hodge

Genuinely Inspirational
Like most people, I thought I had a good idea of what blind persons must go through.... but I did not really have a clue until I read Mr. Johnson's book. What he went through and how he so quickly began to adapt and has had a life long learning and growing process, is told beautifully in this book. As a reader, it feels like being along on his journey and sharing the fear, sadness, and all the victories right along with him. For anyone who has had to or will have to overcome a serious hurdle, and that is many people, this book will be an inspiration. He writes so well and the many positive outcomes of this horrible tragedy for Mr. Johnson give readers some genuine hope. I can see and skiing scares me. What an accomplishment! Well done!

"How to " on personal tragedy recovery
Mr Johnson writes with humility, humor and exactness on how to go from sighted one day to becoming a productive and happy blind man a year later. After his life changed in an instant, he details the steps taken to get his life back. This book is thoughtful, emotional and a must read for anyone fighting to return from such a setback. You would not imagine the seemingly little details that stand in the way as he learns to use a cane, a guide dog and more. The people that come into his life and those around him during his journey round out a great true story.

Every day in Every way, getting better and better !
"SnowBlind" is an inspirational story of a man that would not take "no" for an answer.Positive attitude (with action) is the formula that works as exemplified in this book of courage and determination. This is an easy read with a actual feeling as though you personally know the author. The great love relationships that Bill found with his nurse (now wife) and his sister Kathleen's meeting her husband-to-be as a result of this shooting are the makings of true Love Stories. Good things happen to good people.I really enjoyed this read and recommend it highly.D.T.

Interesting insights in to the recovery process, adaptive skills and more
Snow Blind is an account of extraordinary resilience following a life-altering incident. It reads like a conversation – everything you wanted to learn from a blind person but were afraid to ask -- about adapting for the simple daily tasks we all take for granted. But it’s also about more substantial challenges – returning to a corporate job, tending to childcare – and triumphs – snow skiing! It also provides insight into the services – guide dogs, therapy, etc. – and organizations that the author leveraged during his recovery. An enlightening and enjoyable read.

An Engaging and Uplifting Adventure
With an engaging and compelling style Bill Johnson leads the reader on a great adventure.Bill tells how a random act of violence changed the course of his life forever. He shows no sign of bitterness but takes everything on as a challenge to move forward with his life learning and relearning all the things the rest of us take for granted. He tackled problems with courage and humor and made my heart stand still at times when he fearlessly stepped into the unknown.

A little bit of light...
This ain't Hollywood, this ain't "Made for TV." This is real life, told by a man who, by all accounts, should be dead. You will endure his pain, you will celebrate his victories, you will walk with him, tap, tap, tapping his cane. You will exalt with him on the ski slopes. You will live the life of a blind person. You will be unable to this book down. There is always a little bit of light.
