Fantastic Art
An excellent book regarding this artist. Especially if you could not go to the exhibition.

Drab Colors
I was expecting the prints in this book to reveal Turner's unique use of fiery crimsons, canary yellows, bloody oranges, searing whites, and such. Instead, the colors I found were disappointingly drab, dull, muted, and muddy. I do not recommend buying this book.

Better buy another book
The problem with shopping online is exemplified by this book. Once it arrived I was very disappointed by the poor quality and low resolution of the images of the paintings. The images in the biography part of the book are not labeled and paintings which are discussed in detail are not illustrated. Also strange decisions were made by whoever designed the layout, making the book a bit difficult to read. I am very confused why this book got so many good reviews, are there different editions of it?

Don't buy!
The image reproductions in this book are of very very low quality and pixelated. I had to return this book.

Impressionism at its best .
I am interested in impressionist art and used to paint in similar fashion at my school back in the sixties . I was curious to find out more about Turner . We have all heard of the " Fighting Temeraire " which was a sister ship to Nelson's " Victory" . That said , when I opened this book I was surprised indeed of the man's genius . Some of his paintings are sketchy , yet colourful , but he did so many which are very pleasing to the eye . I still scan through this book and find things I missed before . This particular book is an excellent catalogue of his paintings and I highly recommend it .

A lovely taste of Turner
This is a sweet little book. It is well written, concise, so not boring, providing a good glimpse of the man. Most of the book is devoted to prints of a good selection of his paintings. It would look stunning in a traditional coffee table sized book, (somewhere between A3 and A4 size) but at a bit smaller than A4, it is delightful. Thoroughly recommend.
