Shrill

A must read for every feminist.

As a white, able bodied, heterosexual male, that doesn't experience predujice, this is a great book to have read. Very thought provoking. Strongly recommend.

I finished Shrill and immediately preordered The Witches are Coming. Shrill, the series, enthralled me. I loved it. However, the memoir is a joy to read all on its own. Lindy is brave and witty and honourable. I am a little bit in love, and i write this in support of a person who is helping to change the conversation about size and shame. Lindy is genuinely awesome and she lets the reader in. She does not preach. She is just really smart and she writes beautifully and time spent in her memoir is life enhancing.

Starke Frau, die mit ihrem Verhalten Maßstäbe setzt. Enthält sehr viel nützliches Wissen für jeden Tag als Frau. Missstände, die man selbst nur zu oft wahrgenommen hat, werden hier thematisiert und auch als verletzend beschrieben. Sehr witzig geschrieben! Also ich sehe Lindy West als sehr witzige Person! Sehr witzig ist auch die ausgezeichnete Einleitung mit den Filmfiguren, wie Lady Kluck! Habe viel und laut gelacht als ich das Buch gelesen habe!

This book made me laugh out loud, cry a bit in public transportation and more importantly has represented me more than I’ve ever felt represented. Lindy West is funny, approachable and kind, and I loved every second of this book. I can’t wait to read more of her.
