The Psychology of Procrastination: Understand Your Habits, Find Motivation, and Get Things Done

Makes you take a deep look at yourself
The author focuses on the person and not just the chores. I realized after reading this book that my procrastination is stemmed from my lack of decisiveness. I cant decide where to start. I cant decide what to do with unwanted items. I cant decide what to keep , what to throw, where to store items. This lack of being able to make a decision about how to organize my home has kept me on the procrastination mode for over a year. Using the technique of timing my work, stop for a break, timing my work, etc. I was able to take small steps towards my goal and am happy to say that all the small steps accomplished my goal. This is a great book to reflect on yourself and understand why you procrastinate. Once you get that, its easier to move in and do what you need to do.

This book has really changed my life. When I struggle with doing a task I understand it’s all mental and time myself it’s ok to feel uncomfortable, and I keep doing the task !! This book helps you understand why you put things off !

A no fuss resource
Now at 80 and living in an over-55 community I realized that the collected stuff that filled shelves and drawers is really a mess. not a collection of treasures. I've long known I procrastinated but never found a resource or person who/what would/could help. I heard about this book on a Christian website and it sounded pretty good so I ordered it for next day delivery. It is I think the best book I've read and acted on in all of my years. It informs, not criticizes. I heartily recommend it to anyone of any age. Don't wait until you are 80 - do it now. and have a more comfortable inner and outer life.

Therapeutic 😌
It’s a short book full of subtance. It addresses our problem with procrastination by tackling what procrastination is about and how to deal with it.One thing that this book taught me is self-compassion. I realized I have been a very critical friend to myself instead of being a good and supportive one as I am to my friends.Another thing is the ZERO commitment strategy. Now, I’m no longer dwelling on self criticism because I finally undesrtood that action is better than perfection. I realized I would accomplish more if I start doing - one little action at a time than just sitting and waiting for the situation to become perfect.Cheers to the author! All appreciation to your work 🙏🏻🙌🏼

Wow! I definitely chose the right book!
I purchased this for myself & read the intro, I started telling my husband about it & read a small part that was all about me. I read some to him (while he was cooking dinner), so I just read the intro, it was so hard to stop, he wants to read it together WHAAAT! Yeah so intrigued, I’m excited he wants to read it together, 18 years & never experienced that but he might have to read it on his own. I read chapter 1 & it’s really hard to put down. Today is Friday so hopefully we can read it together over the weekend. He is not a procrastinator but it will help him understand me better. Not that I’ve always been a procrastinator, in fact I was once ocd & very motivated but life changing events & depression changed many things.I look forward to finishing this book & using its many lessons.

It’s perfect
I like how it is short and helpful at the same time, she also explain the issue from a psychological aspect, which is much important than giving just a strategies, but she also gives a strategies. I recommend it to anyone who stuck in his tasks, and didn’t know what to do. though I didn’t apply all what she said, but I will try to apply them, and I hope they will be helpful

It didn't motivate me
I have read much of the information in this book in other books. It didn't motivate me to get moving. I do appreciate that it was short so I could get through it.

Useful
Topics covered broadly; it's a short read and is not exhaustive. I would guess most procrastinators might find some aspect of themselves in this book, as did I to some extent, however I find further exploration is necessary. It did provide some insight and a tip or two useful to my personal situation, but mostly it brought to light there are reasons for this behavior, it can be dealt with, and there are reasons to hope for relief. 🙂
