Second pair of these I've bought. First was for my mom so it didn't bother her roommate when she needed to turn up the tv. Tried them myself and for the price the sound quality is incredible. Over the years I've owned everything from headphones worth a few hundred dollars to dollar store specials and these perform on a par with models costing 2-4 times more by high end makers. Mind you, these will not replace $2000 studio monitor professional headphones, but unless you're listening to a $20k custom system, then 99% of people will never know the difference. The frequency response extends beyond average human hearing at both extremes. They're comfortable to wear for a few hours watching tv and hold their charge quite well.Bought a second pair for my dad because his place has thin walls & he needs to turn up the volume. He loves them!

Got 2 of these, one for upstairs, one for downstairs. Hooked up the upstairs one and loved it. But after a few months the headset would not recharge in the base rendering the headset useless. I thought sony would last but these did not. After working trial and error on these headsets I have found something kind of strange. Headset 1 & 2 both work on charging stand A perfectly, headset 2 will only work on charging stand B. I am not sure why this is happening since they should be identical equipment.

I wanted these so I could watch television at night without disturbing my wife. I only sit about 6 feet from my television so you think they would work really well, but they don’t. There is always a background hiss, And when you turn your head there will be static and if you get up and walk around there is static. I’ve tried all three channels I’ve tried moving the base station to different positions, nothing works. I got a Roku for Christmas and it comes with a built-in wireless headphone jack on the remote control and it works flawlessly. I would not recommend this product.

I was so disappointed in this product. My husband has a hearing-loss & the tv volume in our house is at an abnormal level. So wished that these would work (husband even willing to try); however all the plugs plugged in right, battery charged, green lights on but no sound even after multiple trouble shooting sessions. Tried on both tvs in our house & no luck. Not sure if this is because it is an "as new product" or the product itself. I am unwilling to try again.

For the price this isn't a bad device, but it doesn't shine either. As others have noticed, you may find there is a bit of a 'hum' or static - even changing channels doesn't completely fix it. Added to that, the sound quality is not great - it sounds 'muffled' compared to a cheap set of earbuds plugged into the same audio out. We love the range - we can walk to the study or kitchen and still hear the TV. But if you are looking for great audio quality, without some interference, look elsewhere.

My Dad is hard of hearing, and several years ago he purchased a pair of these ( older model). Well, after much use they finally fell apart. Thankfully we were able to find the newer version here!Purchased these, two days later they arrive and Dad was back in business.They've been fabulous. Such a great way for him to watch TV without having to turn it up so loud half the neighborhood hears or my Mom ends up with a headache. It's also nice when they want to watch a movie. He can turn it up a bit so he can understand and hear what being said while Mom can watch and hear the TV at a level that is comfortable for her!Set up was easy. Sound is great. He loves them, and gives them two thumbs up!

Seller sent different model with a Sony MDRRF985RK sticker over the serial number. I've ordered the Sony MDRRF985RK series multiple times and really like it. If you can order it, get it.

These headphones were very easy to setup and use. I occasionally hear some static while watching tv, while annoying, doesn't necessary ruin the experience. Some other users have complained about not being able to use their wifi while using the headphones, but I have not run into that problem.For the most part, the headphones are plug in play. After hooking it up via aux cord, I was able to pick up the sound on the headphones. The headphones rest on top of the device (which also charges the headphones), making it super convenient. I have not run into a low battery issue yet, so I can't comment on how long the battery last.
