Rabbit and Bear: The Pest in the Nest

Funny and thoughtful book to particularly help guide those with anger issues
This book is an excellent little story to help children reframe their problems and cope with anger and/or anxiety (both are often linked) an exercise on mindfulness without the 'worthiness' that can often accompany and turn people off. Rabbit is flawed but that doesn't mean he is bad and equally he not fixed after one go but he is trying and that is a powerful mindset to help young children have realistic expectations of emotions. This isn't a book for toddlers, it's far longer than the average book for the up to 5/6 age group, it's not a great one if you've got a child with a short attention span. My just turned 4 year old loves books but wasn't able to sit still the entire time (she had a wiggle about when Rabbit was angry because he was angry then settled down again for the last few pages) but she really loved this book, immediately asked again for a repeat and sang her own version of bears song whilst playing. My daughter has some minor anger issues around being tired and can be self sabotaging like Rabbit, we've been talking about coping techniques so I was delighted such a process was honestly described here with attempt, success and failure showing you have to keep trying rather than expect a quick fix supporting both mindfulness and a growth mindset. Hopefully keep reading this will help her to be more confident in her coping and reframing.Otherwise a gorgeous book, with fun early Spring themed I.lustrations. Definitely recommend.

Laugh out loud story!
My 4 and 3 year old children loved this book; as I read it to them, they were both genuinely howling with laughter. There is also a beautiful message relayed as part of the story, which whilst maybe going over my youngest’s head initially, opened up the chance for discussion afterwards.A perfect introduction to a longer story for young children that does not lose the benefit of plentiful illustrations.

Great book
I’ve had to read it at least twice a night for the last month. I want all the animals to die and the woods to burn to the ground at this point, but my daughter loves it. Her initial obsession was the first book and we still read that a lot, I’d recommend getting that one first as this story is basically a continuation of that one

Wonderful book on many levels
This is my favourite book of this brilliant series. It lays the foundation for mindfulness in a very funny and nagging context. It sends my 4 year old into a happy and peaceful sleep every time and loves it.

Love these books and I think this is my favourite ...
Love these books and I think this is my favourite of the three Rabbit and Bear stories so far. Not only are the illustrations brilliant and often funny, but the text appeals to my 7 year old and he laughs out loud. As a parent there are useful messages and lessons too so if you have primary school age children I can't recommend these enough. Please keep them coming. My son reads each book in a few evenings and is now asking when the fourth one will be released!
